1952 年東京生まれ。
1978 年「千のナイフ」でソロデビュー。同年「YMO」を結成。
散開後も音楽を中心に海外に拠点を移し多方面で活動。
「戦場のメリークリスマス」で英国アカデミー賞を、「ラストエンペラー」の音楽ではアカデミーオリジナル音楽作曲賞、グラミー賞他を受賞。 常に革新的なサウンドを追求する姿勢は世界的評価を得ており、 またアート界への越境も積極的に行っている。
2014 年 7 月、中咽頭癌の罹患を発表したが、1 年に渡る治療と療養を経て2015 年、山田洋次監督作品「母と暮せば」 とアレハンドロ・G・イニャリトゥ監督作品「レヴェナント: 蘇えりし者」の音楽制作で復帰した。
森林保全活動「more trees」、脱原発啓蒙イベント「NO NUKES」、そして「東北ユースオーケストラ」の音楽監督として東日本大震災の被災三県(岩手県・宮城県・福島県)出身の子どもたちとの音楽活動など、社会的な問題への積極的関与も継続している。

1984年からアーティストグループ「ダムタイプ」の活動に参加。様々なメディアを用いたパフォーマンスやインスタレーション作品の制作に携わり、世界各地の劇場や美術館等で公演／展示を行う。1998年からダムタイプの活動と並行して個人の制作活動を開始。
舞台作品《明るい部屋》（2008年初演、世界演劇祭／ドイツ）、
《CHROMA》（2012年初演、滋賀県立芸術劇場びわ湖ホール）
を制作。2013年、東京都写真美術館で個展「明るい部屋」。
2015年にフランスで初演のパフォーマンス《ST/LL》は坂本龍一による音楽が印象的な最新作で、2018年2月24日［土］、25日［日］に東京・新国立劇場にて上演予定。

Founding member of the artist collective “Dumb Type”
since 1984. Takatani has produced numerous performances and installation pieces using a variety of media, and continues to show work in theatres and museums around the world. Besides Dumb Type, Takatani
began a parallel solo career in 1998. In his solo activities, he created his own performance La Chambre Claire (premiered at Theater der Welt, Germany in 2008), CHROMA (premiered at Biwako Hall Center for the Performing Arts Shiga in 2012). His first retrospective solo exhibition,
Camera Lucida, was held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in 2013. His latest performance ST/LL (premiered at Le Volcan, France in 2015)
with Ryuichi Sakamoto’s music will be presented at New National Theatre Tokyo on 24th and 25th of February 2018. |

ZakkubalanはNeo SoraとAlbert Tholenによるニューヨークを拠点としたアーティストデュオ。
写真と映画の合間を交差するアート作品を制作している。
両名ともアメリカ、コネチカット州のウェズリアン大学を卒業し、現在Albertは2017年度のMarcie Bloom Fellow in Filmとしても活躍中。

アピチャッポンはタイ北東部にあるコーンケンで育ち、当地の大学で建築を学んだ後、シカゴ美術学校で映画制作修士を取得。
1993年に短編映画、ショート・ヴィデオの制作を開始し、2000年には初の長編映画を制作。また1998年より多くの展示やインスタレーションを各地で展開してきた。
詩的で時にミステリアスで、ノンリニアな彼の作品は、人々の記憶、個々に潜む政治や社会的問題を繊細な手法で呼び覚ます。
2010年に「ブンミおじさんの森」（日本公開は2011年）でカンヌ国際映画祭最高賞（パルムドール）を受賞。
2009年に制作された大規模な映像インスタレーション「プリミティブ」はドイツのミュンヘンのハウス・デア・クンストにはじまり、数多くの美術館を巡回した。
2012年にはドクメンタ13に出展。また2013年のシャルジャ・ビエンナーレ1 1 において、チャイ・シリとのコラボレーション作品が金賞を受賞。同年に福岡アジア文化賞も受賞している。
2015年は初のパフォーマンス作品「Fever Room」を韓国・光州のアジアン・アート・シアターで発表。
2016年にチェンマイに開館したMIIAM現代美術館で、タイ初となる大規模個展を開催した。
同年、オランダにてプリンス・クラウス賞を受賞。
現在はチェンマイに在住し制作をつづけている。 |
Apichatpong grew up in Khon Kaen, the north-eastern region Thailand, where he studied Architecture, and later specialised in filmmaking at the School of Art Institute of Chicago.
He began making film and video shorts in 1993, and completed his first feature in 2000. He has also mounted exhibitions and installations in many countries since 1998. Lyrical and often mysterious, his works are
non-linear, dealing with memory and in subtle ways invoking personal politics and social issues.
Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives has won a Palme d’Or prize at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in 2010. His 2009 large-scale video installation, Primitive, was exhibited at many museums including Haus der Kunst, Munich and at the New Museum, New York.
In 2012, he was invited to participate in Documenta (13),one of the most well-known art exhibitions in Kassel, Germany. Apichatpong received the Sharjah Biennial Prize at the 2013 Sharjah Biennial 11, UAE in collaboration with Chai Siris. He’s also a recipient of the Fukuoka Prize,
Japan, 2013. In 2015, his first performance piece, Fever Room, was premiered at Asian Art Theater in Gwangju, Korea. In 2016, his solo show inaugurated the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai.
He is a recipient of the 2016 Principal Prince Claus Award, the Netherlands.
Apichatpong currently works and lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand. |
