The difference between the 2 teams for me could come down to Blind being completely exposed for pace in my opinion. Just like when we played PSV in the Champions League group stages. United lost the ball on half way and Blind couldn't keep up with Narsingh on the break and PSV scored. I know its the same old story picking on Blind for pace but given that Ajax main threat is their speed I'd prefer if we started Smalling. His form isn't great but he is maybe a little less likely to cost us a goal.

It's a very good point. I am on the fence about whether to start Blind or Smalling to partner Jones as well.

I trust Jose and the coaches to come up with the best solution from what they see day in day out in training. Haven't been this hyped/excited/nervous for a game in a while!!!

Mou would probably play slow to controll this match from start and kill the game by countering. As I think, Mou would apply 3 CBs and Carrick would be one of them to order positioning others in defense. It's been years since a football match made me this nervous.

The importance can't be understated. We need to win, we should win but I'm very aware we could also lose.
Being positive, I expect a win. Our defence is staunch as fuck, and they shipped 3 goals against Lyon. Being such a young team they could completely crumble if we go hard against them from the start, and I expect us to.

We actually are coming of a game where we scored 2 goals for the first time in ages/

I really don't think Carrick should start if Fellaini is fit. Carrick last few months seems like he is past it. Slow and loses possession under pressure. With Fella we could bypass the press of the ajax kids like vs Liverpool.

Also ajax's attack is really inventive, i hope Blind has a good day.
