Martin Scorsese’s Silence, his latest film adaptation of a novel by Japan’s celebrated author, Shusaku Endo, is an ambitious attempt to portray the fierce struggles of Jesuit priests in a mission to spread Christianity in 17th-century Japan.  Andrew Garfield stars as the young Padre Sebastiao Rodrigues who faces physical and spiritual tribulations by the hostile Japanese authorities in Nagasaki as he searches for his fellow senior Portuguese missionary, Padre Cristovao Ferreira played by veteran Liam Neeson.

ล่าสุด ไมเคิล ยอนได้เปิดเผยถึง กรณี ของ ภรรยาชาวไทยของนาย แอนดูร์ แมคเกรเกอร์ มาแชล  ซึ่งพึ่งถูกจับกุม ข้อหา ตัดต่อภาพใส่ร้ายสถาบันฯ เมื่อเช้าวันที่ 22 กรกฎาคม 2559 ที่ผ่านมา  โดย นาย ไมเคิล ยอน ได้ระบุ ลงในเฟสบุ๊คส่วนตัว Michael Yon โดยระบุว่า  ตัวภรรยาและนาย แอนดูร์ แมคเกรเกอร์ มาแชล สามีของเธอ  เคยพยายามตามรังควานข่มขู่ นาย ไมเคิล ยอน ในกรณี ที่ นาย ไมเคิล ยอน เขียนข่าวนำเสนอ เกี่ยวกับชายชุดดำ และการ พยายามก่อการร้ายของกลุ่มหวังเปลี่ยนแปลงทางการเมืองในประเทศไทย นายไมเคิลยอน ยังระบุอีกว่า

Newly released declassified Top Secret document.

I read it several times.  Generally speaking, we already knew of Saudi culpability in the 9/11 attacks.  After all, 15 of 19 hijackers were Saudi, and there remains mountains of other evidence.

These 28 pages contain many specifics ranging from Florida and across the country to California to Oregon.  These pages should be of great interest to journalists, and to people who live in neighborhoods where some of these mosques exist, etc.

This post explains a trivial matter by comparison, but by scaling up this example it becomes easier understand their anger and frustration.

My Canon DSLR cameras shoot video that is of sufficient quality to use in major motion pictures. The quality is extremely high. Many filmmakers use the Canon Mark III 5d.

I use the same model for interviews and other situations to capture maximum details. I just used this camera in 11 countries during ‘comfort women’ research.

戦争においてさえ、戦闘は予期しない形で訪れる。

月曜に、モスル西部で作戦従事中に、無線で声がとどき、我々の兄弟部隊である3-21がチグリス川の反対側にあたるモスル東部で敵と交戦中との連絡が入った。その直後に、ウィル・ショックリー二等軍曹が米兵一人死亡という報告を我々にもたらした。我々はチグリス川の自陣側にいるはずの敵方射撃手を探し始めたが、すでに逃亡していた。ホセ・L・ルイスが戦死した。

モスルの状況は改善しているが、我々の部隊は今も毎日戦い続けている。今回の戦争は数年前に皆が思っていたような戦争とは異なるものかも知れない。だがいざ砲撃が始まると、事前の計画など単なる役立たずの正装に過ぎなくなる。

Mosul, Iraq

Combat comes unexpectedly, even in war.

On Monday, while conducting operations in west Mosul, a voice came over the radio saying troops from our brother unit, the 3-21, were fighting with the enemy in east Mosul on the opposite side of the Tigris River. Moments later, SSG Will Shockley relayed word to us that an American soldier was dead. We began searching for the shooters near one of the bridges on our side of the Tigris, but they got away. Jose L. Ruiz was killed in action.

Although the situation in Mosul is better, our troops still fight here every day. This may not be the war some folks had in mind a few years ago. But once the shooting starts, a plan is just a guess in a party dress.
