You haven't given your state. Or even country. But most states/countries have rules about how you can dispose of a dead body. So you need to look into these.

Location: Ohio (sorry I forgot to mention) I suppose asking morticians or funeral home owners/workers rather than attorneys may have been smarter. Can't imagine this is a common occurrence. But are there any instances, laws, holes in the law, or loopholes that you can think of that would be extremely relevant for this idiotic topic? Thanks!

I doubt you'll find a loophole: there are public health issues related to disposing of bodies.

Appreciate it. Was hoping one of you esquires would have some oddly specific experience in this sort of law. Or maybe knew of some cases that would be relevant or interesting. Follow up question- where are we at with feeding my body to wolves or vultures or something? And follow up question to that question- do you take classes in law school on how to deal with complete morons without blowing your stack?

It's called: paying client. Emphasis on the "paying"

But I'm not a lawyer.

Oh, well in that case I'd like to completely retract any and all gratitude coming from my end. You're just a random dude who googles a bunch of shit and posts on here as some sorta authoritative source? I also hope you see the irony in you making any remark regarding remuneration for legal advice. Being that you're on here posting pro bono (you've done enough googling to know that term), you've possibly never taken a class about law, and most importantly you are not an attorney. This has been one of the least productive conversations I've had in quite some time. And that's saying something.

BTW I've now officially placed myself higher on the ladder of fake attorneys. If you work hard, you could one day make partner.

Edit - why would you down vote this comment? You know it's funny (although I agree that you look like an idiot and can't really comeback)

With enough money, a funeral home can probably make many things possible.

Completely unrelated to legal advice, but this struck me as something right out of the movie Bernie

The only approved "Viking funeral" I'm aware of in the US occurred after the body had already been cremated, and the Boat carting the ashes was set aflame and adrift. But they also had to have another boat standing by to monitor the flames until it went out.

Serious (but admittedly ridiculous) question: I would like to have some sort of outrageous funeral procession. What are some of the more extreme options that are completely legal/realistic? (Think along the lines of a Viking funeral)

So I'm not very religious, and have a pretty "interesting" family. At a traditional funeral recently, I realized that I do not want my life celebrated in such a way. Would like my funeral to be entertaining in some capacity. I initially thought of a Viking funeral, then wondered if it'd be legal for my two brothers to shoot at my body when I'm pushed out to sea. I realize how incredibly illegal this all is, and would like to know what some alternatives are? I'm not a satanist, hardcore atheist, or follower of any agenda. I just want to know about some unique and legal options I have. Side notes- -I'm 27/M and have no health issues or any reason to believe I'm in any imminent danger. -Obligatory recognition of how this looks like I am trying to be a "tough guy". Certainly not what I'm implying. This afternoon I sprinted about 200 yards because a bee wouldn't stop circling me in a parking lot. -I hope I'm not offending anybody!
