I read the magic a while back. I've been using LOA for about 10 years so i don't really bother over-reading about it anymore. The key to LOA is the feeling. If you feel bad your going to keep finding yourself in situations that make you feel bad, similar to this "disaster" you speak of. It's important not to overthink, just to feel good. Easier said than done at times. The best way to create something is to imagine the essence of it, what does it bring you? Security? Fulfillment? Ease? Whatever the essence of it is, you need to learn to exude and focus on that quality, and that will bring it to you.
