If you've ever play any of the Battle for Middle Earth games you'll know that even Tolkien's world was inherintely racist. West = caucasian and good, East = middle eastern and evil

So it's been a while since I last read Tolkien, does he ever specifically mention race in his writing, or was that a film-specific addition?

It sucks that you can't be critical of these things without being called a 'virue-signalling SJW cuck'.

Warhammer has the same problems as all 'world of hats' style settings which is that some culture has to be taken as the default and then all others viewed only on the most obvious points of how they differ.

The problem is two fold here - one is that it is stupid and offensive to assume any given culture has any particular priority over another as the default, and it means that everyone who is not the default tends to be reduced to single differences.

It is difficult to work around this though, because the vast majority of people do not know enough about different cultures to make deep and accurate portrayals, and specifically the nature of certain settings limits the ability to highlight both positive and negative aspects of all cultures.

And I do think that at a certain point it is difficult to make wholly original creations that don't reflect something of the real world simply because of the diversity of real history, and commercial necessities of needing to constantly expand themes means that eventually original thoughts run out.

Yeah, we have similar problems in LARP as well. It is really frustrating.

this isn't a problem that's unique to Warhammer. Anything that's based on/descended from Tolkien is going to be inherently problematic at best and racist at worst.
