Frightening how whether our season will end up good or unacceptable all depends on one final game.

I think "good" wasn't the right word for me to use.

What I meant to say was that if we win the EL (on top of winning the EFL Cup and Community Shield), then Jose will have achieved the absolute bare minimum expected of him.

"Good" would probably be something like EL + FA Cup, or Top 3 + FA Cup, or maybe even PL + EFL Cup. But as we all know, Top 4 is already out of our hands, and we've been knocked out of the FA Cup.

So to go back, if we win the EL, Mou will have achieved the bare minimum expectation. Which is "good" in the sense that this would give us a good foundation to build on for the next season. But definitely not a good enough season for a club like United.

And if we achieve any less than that? I don't even want to think of that scenario.

Indeed mate. This final could shape our future for at least the next few years.

Win it and we'll probably kick on from there with our league form.

Lose it, however, and I honestly fear that we will start becoming like Liverpool and end up in the wilderness for a good few years.

Win it and we enter the CL, don't lose any Adidas money, have done a double in Mou's first season and will effectively, enable us to forget about our home draws in the league this season that's led us to finish wherever we finish in the league.

Lose it and we have Europa again next season, a whole summer of shitposts and then next season the focus will still be on the bad parts of this season.

You really think it will be classed as good if we win it? If that the standard for you fair enough.

We had an easy draw to the final, haven't played well at all and easily could have been put out. In the league we look set to finish behind all of our main rivals.

Play wise we have been better at times but at the same time we still feel the need to park the bus in games. Our attack quite often is toothless and our midfield still needs big sorting out. Plus our teams mentality seems terrible.

I would have hoped for top 3 and a trophy this season at very least, even at times we were hoping for the title. This isn't an angry fan rant, but I just find this season disappointing. I'll be happy if we win the EL yes, but I won't be going on a bender after or anything like that.

Fact of the matter is EL will mean a season of scraping the bare minimum, we need to have a better style of play, improve our squad and the manager has to step up also. I for one will never be happy with Man Utd being a Europa League standard team. Time to think like an elite club again and start to build proper.

Even if we win it's not a good season tbh (for once I agree with the miserable Keano). There are however a lot of positives to take from this season and regardless of what happens in the final I will still think Mourinho is the right guy to get us on track again.

I agree and disagree but only because I wouldn't see finishing 4th as a "good" season either, should be the minimum really.

But if you see 4th as a good season then winning Europa is even better than that given it's direct qualification to the CL and a trophy.

Mou's approach to the game isn't the most entertaining some times, but considering the squad he inherited at the start of the season it's phenomenal that we could finish the season with 2 cups and a CL spot.

It's like SAF said, "attacking wins games, defending wins titles". With the inconsistencies of us going forward can you blame him for his defensive approach last night. It had the potential for going wrong but in less than 2 weeks we might have secured our return to CL football.

I browse a lot of other clubs subs, and Liverpool is literally the only sub that I constantly see upvoted posts wishing for injuries on their rivals. I saw it again today wishing Spurs injure a pile of our players ahead of the EL final. We all hate each other, and there's posts I disagree with on City's sub all the time but they don't stoop that low. Nor do I ever see Arsenal fans wishing it on Spurs fans.

They are genuinely a disgusting bunch who have trouble drawing a line between supporting your club and wishing harm on people.

It's funny how people who don't actually listen to Radiohead always say their music is "depressing". And yet, in my darkest hours when all I did was lay in bed and stare at the celling I'd put "In Rainbows" on and it actually made me feel a lot better. I can't explain it.

I remember listening to "Nude" back when I was at my parents house, and my sister would protest and walk out of room because she thought it sounded "too fucking depressive".

Man I fell out with my best friend over Radiohead. He claimed they were "boring" and, get this, described them as "crappy pop music". He clearly never listened to them and made his mind up after hearing a small snippet of one window of their career.

Listen to a song like Little by Little - that's not depressing. Go to Sleep - not depressing. Just - not depressing. They're the closest thing to the Beatles since the Beatles IMO.

Massive fan of the Alien franchise, and going to see the new one tomorrow. Hearing conflicting things about it, and I'm usually picky with what I see in cinemas, but this franchise is my weakness. Here's hoping it's a step up from Scott's disappointing previous film in the franchise.

Moved back up to Cheshire last Friday. House wasn't in the best state ever as the previous tenants did a lot of damage but after a solid week of fixing up and tidying, the house is looking great.

Landlord popped round last night and he seems a really nice guy which is great.

Trip to the tip today though. I can't wait...
