I'd like to believe that the Republicans are not traitors to our republic or so blinded by their lust for power that they will forsake this nation, her people, our laws and our way of life. While on the face of it, it sure seems that way, but what about this:

We all know that Russia hacked BOTH parties, not just the Democrats, but they released only the information damning to Hillary. Therefore, all damning (or even slightly embarrassing) information on the GOP is still unknown to the public. Of course this means that the information is valuable because it can be held as leverage over each individual on whom they have dirt. This makes them compromised and explains their inaction: Cowardice.

They are being told to stand down and to continue tearing us apart... and they obey. So, I'd like to believe that they aren't betraying their nation out of some cruelty and lust for ultimate power. I'd like to believe they are betraying the nation because they are cowards.

Now, I'd also like to believe that these "leaders" will find their resolve and not sell our nation out for their pride and fear... but I know they won't. Because that's just not what cowards do.
