I wish this was surprising, but it’s been the Republican party line for as long as I can remember.
Yeah this is unfortunately predictable. At this point it’s honestly a pleasant surprise they aren’t calling for the total abolition of low-income public housing
Oh, poor people need help, for sure. But they can’t actually have anything. They need to live and to live suffering.
Things poor people should not have (that I saw them advocate unironically to not have):
Mobile phones
Internet
Tobacco
Alcohol
Condoms
Air conditioning
Books
The right to vote
Sugar
Cars
Health care of course
But the mask makes it palatable, you know? It’s when they pull it off and there’s nothing under it, not even hatred, I understand hatred, I understand contempt.
I don’t understand this void.
