Mario Romo Arrested for Murder

Porn performer Mario Romo and his girlfriend were arrested in San Diego for the murder of 51 year old businessman Jake Clyde Merendino in Mexico where Merendino had bought a condo. A hand written will written on a note pad was produced by Romo that left the deceased's estate entirely to him. Romo and the victim had been lovers. At the time of the murder the girlfriend was pregnant with Romo's now 6 month old child. The two have pleaded not guilty. Romo faces life imprisonment. The L.A. Times has more details.

Gino Colbert Dies

So far with less fanfare than last weeks passing of Blue Blake, producer/director/performer Gino Colbert also crossed that same river. Colbert had a rather large impact on the gay porn 'industry' but it was less flamboyant than some. Luka Magnotta Convicted

Minor porn performer Luka Magnotta was convicted in Canada of the murder of Chinese student Jun Lin. Jun connected with Magnotta via a Craigslist posting about kinky sex. Jun was killed dismembered, photographed and body parts were mailed to a number of recipients. After e-mailing and posting evidence on the internet he then fled to Europe where he was arrested in Berlin. He tried to mount a defense of insanity but was convicted in part because of detailed planning of the killing although one could say publicizing a murder might not be considered sane. He was sentenced to life in prison but is eligible for parole after 25 years plus 19 more years for other charges.

Bound in Public Being Shut Down

In an interview in Slate online magazine, Kink CEO Peter Acworth said that they were no longer going to be filming their Bound in Public line. "Behind the scenes, these larger scenes with lots of people were quite frankly controlled, but nevertheless they look like they’re not controlled. We’ve been attacked in that manner in the past. It’s difficult to defend, as much as if you would actually speak to the people who were there, or speak to the crew, we could explain how the situation is controlled, but the outside view may be a little more difficult at first view." I.e. customers wanted it to look real and it looked too real but how do you convince certain people that don't want it to be real that is wasn't really real?
