As Carlos if you can hang up a "clothesline" on the old mans side, hang up some bedsheets when y'all want to go swim.

In the USA, there is nothing illegal about a sex offender living next door to you. There is also nothing illegal about a sex offender looking at you, provided that he is doing so from a place where he can legally be. If he can see you from his house, he can watch you from his house.

If he comes on your host family's property, they can call the police and have him removed. If he tries to speak to you after you've told him not to, then you can call the police as well.

For what? Harassment?

Yep, eventually. Probably not the second time, and probably not for random encounters, but at some point.

I mean, 784.048 requires willful maliciousness on the part of the offender, and substantial emotional distress on the victim.

The first will come eventually(if not already there, after the cops talked to him. The second will eventually prove itself up if it persists.

Keep in mind, we're also talking to someone who speaks English as a second language and isn't familiar with our legal system

I guess that depends on your interpretation of the word Substantial.

Right. What do you think the police are going to do when OP tells them the guy spoke to her? Seriously?

In Russia they send man to Gulag in Siberia. Man not come home to family.

In America they say "get over it, build a bigger wall and go outside when he's not home".

Im not from russia but here pedos get beaten up really bad and thats what they deserve. Police hate pedos too. Last year one guy went to jail for 20 years, it was all over TV. America is very strange country.

In America sex offender does not necessarily mean pedophile.

[–]KingKidd 25 ポイント26 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Well yeah, in America "sex offender" can mean any number of things of varying severity.

This sounds very creepy. What kind of activities does this Carlos make you and your sister do? Why is he flying you and your sister all the way to the US? Who is authorizing you and your sister to fly out from Russia?

[–]Gavinmac 21 ポイント22 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Is Carlos married? Why did you tell Carlos and Gina the cleaning lady, and not Carlos and his wife?

Why is Carlos (or Carlos and his wife) paying $3000 to fly 12-15 year old Russian girls to stay with him? This arrangement seems unusual. What sort of visa do you travel on?

You can confirm this person is a registered sex offender and what he did to get on the registry at this link. You will need to know your hosts address or general area:

I'm confused why do you HAVE to go?

[–]Notamericanjustvisit[S] 21 ポイント22 ポイント  (0子コメント)

It can make me and my sister not be choosed anymore for traveling to USA. American people adopt alot of kids and I hope my sister gets adopted by someone nice. We are too old to be adopted in our country, no one wants children that old
