In Fellaini's Defense... (self.reddevils)

I don't like Fellaini, so I have no reason to stick up for him. My initial reaction to the red was that Fellaini is an idiot, which I still think he is, but hear me out. Firstly, Aguero dove before the "headbutt," and clearly had the intention of getting Fella sent off. When watching the replay of the headbutt, it is very clear that Aguero actually headbutted Fellaini. You can very clearly see him initiate the contact with Fellaini's head. Once again, Fellaini is an idiot for putting himself in that position, it was too predictable. But it was the wrong decision, and even if he had given Fellaini the second yellow, Aguero deserved a talking to. Sorry for the rant, but I rarely stick up for Fellaini but I feel sorry for him here. Lucky it didn't cost us. Also, Aguero is a massive cunt.

I hope the FA take retrospective action against Aguero. Both players went for the head butt, you can clearly see that in the replays so I hope the FA see's that and bans that cunt.

Okay, I completely understand what you're saying. But I still feel like it was completely Fellaini's fault here. The first foul was a yellow card. I think everyone can agree on that. But the second foul, there was very little contact, and it was a 50/50 on whether it should've been given as a foul. I wouldn't say that it was blatantly a dive, but yes, Aguero did go down too easy. But the referee was not going to give a 2nd yellow for that. I'm very sure of that. He signalled Fellaini to come towards him. That 99% of the times means that it was going to be a warning. And yes, I agree that Aguero moved towards Fellaini, but what Aguero did was legal. He didn't make any contact. Fellaini pushed his head forwards, which Aguero made the most of. So yeah, in my opinion, definitely a red, and Fellaini is a moron.

This was my original opinion. Like I said, Fellaini is definitely an idiot, but in my opinion Aguero initiated the contact. That said, for Fellaini to even try to get in his face was stupid

I've warmed to Felli recently but he lost control and arguing Aguero initiated it or deserved a talking to is absolutely not a defense for Fellaini. Bitch about Aguero as much as you like, but it doesn't excuse Fellaini being an idiot one bit.
