We develop systems that are truly useful with an eye towards planning and operation.
There are two development centers. General Manager Hara oversees Development Center 1, which is responsible for Telematics development. When a customer contacts the Contact Center while driving, certain data at the data center is selected and fed back to the customer's navigation system. It was Development Center 1 that created this system. "We are responsible for realizing the plan details investigated at Toyota Motor Corporation and for all of the subsequent processes until delivery to the operational team. We connect vehicles and IT so that users can be connected with vehicles and dealers can be connected with users. Our biggest role is marketing the service in a concrete form," explained General Manager Hara. Actual development is outsourced. Efforts are focused and considering the optimal format of the service taking into consideration aspects until continuous operation and project management for transferring the service in its entirety.
A service first comes to life when it is put into operation. Because there is an internal operations business division, we are able to perform development that takes all aspects up to operation into consideration. In addition, we are able to use the un-edited opinions of users collected at the Connected Center as feedback when developing the next service. This is the greatest strength of Toyota Media Service development. The term "telematics" is spreading, and the integration of vehicles and IT in the form of hardware holds unlimited potential. "How far will this concept grow? What can be achieved through the integration of vehicles and IT? Imagining this dream is one of the joys of this job, and my happiness when this actually occurs is beyond my expectations. This work is geared towards the future. I have no doubt that our motivation will lead to services that drive the motorist society as a whole."
