First of all, let's just agree to keep it cute. Conversations like this strengthen our community, and all opinions should be heard, but only if both sides are willing to understand. Now:

To be clear, I was using more of a sociological definition of racism, as to distinguish it from prejudice. The former includes power structures, while the latter is more of a blanket term. White people can be prejudiced against black people, and blacks against whites because of whatever stereotypes and misguided opinions there are. But racism, in this context, includes past and present power structures which are NOT level.

Tell me ONE right White People have that Black People dont

This sounds like a statement by a white person that could have been made 50, 100 years ago in the US which was obviously not true. If you're talking specifically about laws... that's a long conversation about institutionalized racism I won't get into.

BUT, to keep it simple, just because something is not explicitly stated, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. The experience of black people in this country is very different than that of white people, which is different to that of myself as a Mexican-American. Both groups might have the RIGHT to walk down a street, but the experiences and interactions they have with people, police officers, etc could be different as a result of their race. It's more likely that black people will be caught committing a crime (even when others do it the same amount or more often), more likely they'll be convicted, more likely they'll have a harsher sentence, etc. So they might have the same RIGHTS, but that's also irrelevant when the outcomes are still different.

As a Valentina-stanning, flamboyant-ass Latino twink, it's offensive to hear locks on cars click, or see a woman clutching her purse around me. What is my 145 pound ass gonna do to you? It was annoying in college to have people question why I was there, or ask me my SAT scores, because I had to have gotten in from affirmative action. I hated mowing my lawn in my white suburb and having neighbors ask me and my dad if he spoke English, had a business card, and what a quote for their lawn would be. Why don't I have a right to exist in this same space without question? Why am I assumed to be a certain thing, even if the laws protect me just as much as any white perdón? Why am I always seen lesser than?

I won't be the one to deny this resemblance. The problem for me is that it seems you don't want to consider another point of view, and that perhaps the statement could be offensive to some. So please, for the sake of our little gay ass community, dare to see things a little differently, and try to make the world a better place instead of defending the status quo.
