Today's game might just be the perfect beginning to our tough run of fixtures in the next few weeks. Remember in LvG's first season we had a similar set of tough fixtures and after the win against Spurs things just fell into place.

Also I hope Mourinho uses today's setup more often in away matches where we are going to see less of the ball and can use Rasford's pace to get behind the opposition's defence. Zlatan is a great striker but his one big weakness is pace and we kinda struggle to counter attack when he's leading the line.

Mourinho has a long term decision to make now that he could start implementing more in the close up fixtures. Build an all possession based team around Ibra. Or build a dynamic team around Rashford/new striker capable of pressing high and hitting teams on the counter. Would personally prefer the latter myself as Zlatan only has another season in him max and Mourinho shines his brightest with teams that can break on the counter in an instant.

Don't you think it's a bit late for "beginnings"? This isn't the first time people have thought we'd turned a corner just to be disappointed at yet another impotent display the next week. Don't be flippant, we have massively underperformed this season, even underperforming teams sometimes exceed expectation. I don't mean to be ultra pessimistic but I don't think we're getting top 4, (convincingly) winning one game against Chelsea doesn't change that for me.

I would be maxed out if they didn't make Europe, they do have a chance to make it to the top 4 but obvious, it'd need consistent performance so fingers crossed on that. I think they've got a really talented squad so it wouldn't be that hard but yeah gotta step up to it.
