Sure, a lot of scams are going on in that space. But I don't exactly consider WSB a safe space of investing where not risking people getting rekt is the number one priority.

I guess the low liquidity pump and dumps (where a post on a subreddit could be enough to make some serious ROI for the dude behind it) would get somewhat annoying to moderate.

not at all like forex because (some) cryptos have use cases not just random fluctuations.

granted, the cryptos that I consider viable can be listed on the fingers of one hand, but they do exist.

but yeah keep buying calls ahead of shitty biotech earnings for all I care, you're playing against people who know a whole lot more than you. not the case for crypto. markets are still inefficient. If you have a modicum of sense you can make a killing. of course most legacy banking enthusiasts (how do you enjoy 3+ day settlement for your trades?) don't really want to understand crypto and don't have the barest understanding of the tech.

From what I've heard/read from WSBers is that whales with insane amounts of currency have too much power to arbitrarily control the value. The lack of regulation also makes it much easier to get screwed over.

It's kind of like comparing penny stocks to AMD or JNUG. Volatility's great but you need to be able to at least somewhat predict it. JNUG at least loosely follows gold, a lot of cryptos just do whatever the fuck ever.
