This sub has been on a slow downward spiral for a while now and i would like to appeal to my fellow Ents to take notice of this issue. I have seen posts in recent times being deleted/removed citing rules like "no scoring help", "no dnm talk" etc. when people are not even talking directly about such topics. Hopefully by the end of this you all can see the pitfalls of the present moderation system and voice your opinion before this sub turns into a PG 13 whatsapp group for 50 year olds. (Shoutout to Urban Aghori!)

False, the uptick in traffic stats and the huge jump in sub count since I joined in say otherwise.

The no scoring help/no dnm talk rules were taken after a community discussion. I, the community and the automod I set up will continue to report/remove posts which violate those rules.

1) First things first. The number one reason why people get caught(in fact almost all cases) is through tip-offs/snitching or careless self doxxing. Following OpSec is a good idea however it is pretty irrelevant in India for all intents and purposes of this sub. Stop acting like the Cybercrime division is hot on your trail and looking for that last crucial piece of evidence before they go all guns blazing on your front door. They are NOT. In fact they are nowhere close. I can almost hear another irrelevant OpSec rant about how important it is to access reddit through a burner laptop running linux vm; spoofed mac address and sending data through triple layered VPN's and PGP encryption. But i will save our beloved 1337 mods some time and address their concern in the next point.

Again false, an older mod informed me that the sub was mentioned in an indian national paper and all the older mods bailed after an LE scare. Similarly scams/cheats/le trolls/doxxing all have happened earlier on the sub significantly risking the community. Our older members might remember.

2) You as a moderator are in no special position to any LE because of the simple fact that you DONT have access to any information that can be leveraged unless you have your own side agenda here or doing some kind of business. In your own words from a recent post, you are JUST a moderator and take no responsibility for any illegal activity that goes on here which you are not involved in yourself. You can follow as much OPSec as your heart desires and be safe. This is just basic redditing. There was a grand total 0 MLAT requests made last year from India. STOP deleting posts unless it is blatantly causing self-harm or harm to others.

That defense doesn't work in India, if mods get hooked (especially when allowing dnm/scoring stuff) it will be for "running a community for drug dealers in India". Maybe you can fight it off at court but you can say bye bye to career prospects and future.

3) Vain boasting. You are not putting yourself at great risk by being a moderator here. And neither are you a special snowflake that cannot be replaced. Heavily moderating content. Rules are there as guidelines to help protect the community and promote activity, not to use them as excuses to flex your epeen. If you really are feeling so burdened by this responsibility then please take break and do yourself a favor. At this point it seems like a sad cycle of re validating of your self imposed burden. Moderation in a community like this should be done with a hands OFF approach. Your opsec 101 sounds more like a holier than thou preaching ceremony than a useful guide for fellow Ents to be safe on the internet.

The content is moderated as per the rules decided by the community after a public discussion, older subs will remember. The rules and moderation are pretty much transparent. If you don't like our rules, please feel free to start your own community on reddit, no one is stopping you. Or better yet start a facebook group and see how it fares, surely you'll get more traffic.

Lastly, and this was the final nail in the coffin for me to make this post when i saw this posted by you a few days ago.

"For my OC you can view the setup/design of this entire subreddit, tons of past posts and guides, most of the sidebar guides and the entire wiki"

Are you serious dude? You just ripped off the /r/naut

theme and shamelessly removed all traces of credit to the guy who actually worked hard to make a theme for redditors. Your guide is a self-jerk, your moderation style feels like a vicious cycle of ego stroking and validating your misconceptions. On top of that you have the audacity to brag about work you never did which confirms my suspicions that you are up to no good.

To any one who has been using reddit for a while it would be obvious that the theme is from naut, I never claimed to to have designed the theme.

Go to https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianEnts/about/stylesheet/ clearly mentions that the theme is from version 4 of /r/naut right at the very top.

Lot of subs use it but who do you think set up the design/automod/literally everything else, it's not running stock naut is it? Go back one year and check out what the sub used to look like. I've written tons of content for the sub a lot of it was also from a different account which might be known to older users.

I'm sure Liquent is will be ready with another Red Herring story pointing out to rules or trying to cite specific cases but we already know that he is weak in the ethics department. When the unofficial discord server is bursting with activity despite reddit being the more "safe" platform, you know things are going really wrong.

I'm sure you are pissed off because I probably cut short your attempts to dealing on here or deleted one of those desperate scoring posts.

Tl;dr: Loosen up , or take a hike.

I'm here to stay bro, feel free to start your own sub if you don't like what's going on here.

Seriously. Subbed here a long time ago and never ever felt at home. All I see here are posts of some really good pot and absolutely no discussions. Besides, as a casual smoker there is an overwhelming elitist attitude from the 'pro' smokers. I blame the overdone moderation for nuking this potentially goldmine of a sub. Some people love to pretend like haxx0rs talking about OpSec when in reality they are potheads who have just spent enough time on dark themed websites.

You sir, are right on the spot. :)

[–]Liqent 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

overdone moderation

The only content which is removed from the sub are scoring posts, scams and dnm talk. That too only after a public discussion where most of the community agreed it was for the good. Shame if you don't appreciate the safety aspects of it, it comes about since a lot of subs use dnms and need to follow proper measures for their own safety, some of it they share over here.

Literally everything else is allowed. I've never seen you post anything or participate in the discussions, what's stopping you?

I'd say ignore them and still comment. Generate your own content. I hahe never ordered from dnm and i dont even understand how some users identify strains just by a pic. That doesn't doesn't prohibit me from commenting on other threads. In the end its the users who make the sub not the mods.

Right on. Sick of the snobbery on show by some of the 'pro' smokers here.

I've been saying this since forever. Mods are only meant to be the caretakers/janitors of the sub, content must be created by the community to keep the sub alive.

Read this over breakfast, which was a sweet microdose with some orange juice and a couple dabs. Whoever you are, thank you for doing this. I have been around from the begining of this sub under various aliases and I must say it was much more of an open minded space. The focus seems to have shifted to stash showcase and show off, seems like a bunch of teenagers jerking off at pics of nugs.
We must also focus towards harm reduction and being a space where people can speak their heart if they feel like without feeling judged. I mean, with such an influx of access to substances and this generation's curiosity to take on various psychaunautic journeys, many people might find themselves in a confused state very often and this community could be a space where these people feel comfortable. ( Be it trying DMT/or educating kids on how to keep your ass safe while experimenting with your mind.) There is a saying on these parts of the internet, "think of everyone you encounter as a narc."; this includes the mods, fellow users, vendors, fresh accounts, everyone. So if you keep your opsec up to the mark and keep this in mind while you post or communicate with anyone, 95% of your work is done. Now if mods could just vet new subscribers of this sub buy blocking a post by a new user that reveals personal information or is a post that might cause a problem for the person posting or anyone in the community; they can guide the user to the opsec guide and hence it solves a lot of problems that arise from new users.

Sorry if I went too long, it just had to come out, can't see this place turn into a shitfaced brag house for dumb teenagers ( or oldies who want to feel like teenagers. )

Lets think about harm reduction and guiding newbies through the waters.

Love.

Tl;dr: This is the first thing I read today, ( wake and bake) and it makes so much sense. Thank you for doing this. :*

PS: If this does end up making a difference, I would love to offer you some goodies ;), which you should share with loved ones.

I actually hate that the sub has so many stash showcase posts and been sparse on other content. I totally agree with what you are saying that the content must be focused more about sharing experiences, harm reduction and guiding newbies.

[Using a throwaway] I fully agree with everything, this sub has been going dowhill since the scorring thread was removed.

Right on.

If you wanna see fucking Nazi levels of moderation go to DNMIndia and see. Those guys are on a fucking power trip. Every post will show 1 to 5 comments but actually just 1 or 2 comment will be visible and rest caught in their asinine spam filter rules.

Heavy fucking censorship. The mods just make official statements without proof... Evidence contrary to the mods view point there is censored so badly. Just goes to show how indians can't handle the power of even a tiny fking sub.

It's so sad but the amount of drama caused there due to fucking idiot mods who can't even identify blatant troll posts of indianlord. Tell me which other 200 to 300 user sub has the level of Nazi control and spam rules and mods who think they are running Alphabay level fuckery.

These mods need a chill pill. Perhaps dnmindia mods need like 20 pills each.

Please understand. We arent manually removing comments. All comments by non-approved submitors have to be approved to be shown. We mods arent online 24x7. We approve comments as and when we come online.

And please understand, this isnt an attempt at censorship. This is simply to prevent trolling/shilling/other forms of bs [in light of the events and drama of the past 1 year]. Going forward this will slowly but surely be removed.

The mods just make official statements without proof

We mods do have internal discussions and sometimes yes, when there are similarities between old scammers and new vendors, we do post warnings. This was simply to warn/caution users.

fucking idiot mods who can't even identify blatant troll posts

Time and again we have called out trolls or simply removed their posts/comments. The thing is, you wont see their comments at all, so you think that the mods are just sitting on their asses

one proof : https://np.reddit.com/r/DNMIndia/comments/621r4g/vendors_xtclsd_and_light_had_combined_to_scam_soe/dfjrmdg/

btw, we would welcome constructive criticism to make that sub a better place.

    100x this. I agree totally.

Agree. I have a feeling the mods and dealers have some deal wherein they only approve vendor reviews where they also have an incentive, if you know what I mean..

People need to chill out in general, and the DNMIndia sub really needs more transparency, or they will always be viewed by eyes of suspicion..

Interesting. Just two vendors listed in India. One in Goa and one in some village in Maharashtra.

Have you used this site to connect to other buyers? What's the experience like?
