Anyone else largely disappointed by Mkih this season? (self.reddevils)

He obviously had the stop/start situation at the beginning but he came in v West Ham and Spurs and was excellent. His movement, touch and shooting was brilliant.

He's had a couple of good games since and he's scored some goals but he's scored in the last 2 games and I think he's been poor in both.

He should be a player that oozes quality yet so many times he'll try and play a one touch pass and he'll give it straight to the defender or he'll try and dribble and runs into players and gets dispossessed.

I actually think Lingard (who I haven't been the biggest fan of but might be changing) is outperforming him massively and doing exactly what Mkih should be doing. That is, roaming around the pitch, dribbling past players, getting into dangerous positions and connecting with team mates.

Mkih scored so not many people will probably criticise him as he's a fan favourite but he's not performing like I'd hope.

One thing I would say is that he plays better surrounded by pace and he'd do well in a counter attack, we are neither of those things

Yeah broken field with players dragging defenders away from him he usually looks very good. I was actually a little worried he wouldn't do so well at Utd as we don't do that as much as Dortmund did but i have been pleasently suprised with how well he has done.

Martial should be oozing quality but he has been poor.

Rashford as well after his amazing start in his debut season as well.

Pogba too but he keeps hitting the wood work or forever blasting it over the net.

Lingard, only scoring worldies. Missing out on decently put together chances as well.

The entire team isn't Performing well either, fan favourite or not it's harsh to only attack his performance. I personally feel that even if he isn't at his Dortmund best he has done as much as he can with what he can do around him. He has created some incredible chances for others that just hasn't gone into goal, like majority of the rest of our chances this season. I've watched this guy come up with some magnificent goals! Running and dribbling through defenders from the halfway line to score on 2 different occasions to that Scorpion goal. Cmon the guy has been having a decent season after fighting to start in the team.

He needs to play through the centre with pacy players around him who can respond to his quickness of thought. He's wasted when he plays either side of the pitch, though even then he's still been in the goals regularly - if anything that shows what a quality player he is.

But first season in a new league, he was shit for Dortmund at first too. Lets see if he improves next season.

This is just laughable. Mkhitaryan has very, very easily been better than Lingard. No contest. People just expect far more from Mkhitaryan and notice a lot more when he's poor. People expect Lingard to do nothing so whenever he does anything at all decent people stand up and notice.

He's been inconsistent, which was already established by Dortmund fans when we signed him. He has scored recently but he's been very poor overall.
