Looking at getting a dog. (self.MGTOW)

Anyone have advice on breeds? I've had a couple of mutts that lived to ripe old ages, but I was thinking about a Basset Hound. Anyone else have experience with the breed, or dogs with similar temperaments?

I don't like short breeds (how shallow of me lol) but seriously, I had a black and white English spaniel as a kid, and... she sucked. I hear if you're a hunter they're great though. Get a German Shepard! Intelligent, loyal and fearless. I hear that Dobermans are like that too, but they look too flamboyant for my taste lol. Get a German Shepard puppy and train him well (send pics too, we want to see!)
