Did some research about United's vs opponent's shooting in all the draws this season. (self.reddevils)

This is the 14th draw in all competitions this season.

  • 4 of them (WBA,Hull,Burnley, L'pool) were 0:0.

  • 10 have been 1:1 ( Anderlecht, Everton, Rostov, Bournemouth,Stoke, L'pool, Everton, West Ham, Stoke and Arsenal)

  • The total number of shots United had during these 14 draws is 239 with 76 of them being on target and 163 being off target.

  • In these games United averaged 5.43 shots on target and 11.6 shots off target totaling an average of 17.1 shots per game

  • The opponents had 2.71 shots on target per game and 5.07 shots off target, totaling an average of 7.78 shots per game.

  • The total number of shots the opponents had during is 109 with 38 of them being on target and 71 being off target.'

  • 4 of these teams (Anderlecht,Bournemouth,Stoke and Arsenal) managed to score with only one attempt on target (Stoke's goal was an own goal), and West Ham succeeded with 2 attempts.

  • The conversion rate of all the shots in these 14 games is 4.18% for United, 9.2% for the opponents if they are seen as a one unit.

This is disturbing.

At this point, it's more of a mental block than anything else. I also think we're desperately missing Mata, he always provides the spark when we need it and is a hell of a finisher

Definetely missing Mata. Our squad doesn't know how to explore width, and Mata is our most effective player at sneaking in tight places.

4.18% conversion rate is downright shite.

So statistically speaking, if we were to score 4 goals in a game, it would require 100 shots at this rate!

We're 16th. It's not 4% as that only uses draw. Still shite though.

We need ruthless killers in front of goal. Our squad up front is just not good enough barring Ibra. I hope this summer we buy another striker, a 10 or winger depending on where Miki will play and another midfielder to support Pogba so he can have more of an influence in the final third. Honestly we just need better wingers than the ones we have.
