That depends. If a huge fucking asteroid 25x the size of Earth is heading directly towards Earth, you'd be a pretty big dumb-ass to "help prevent it" from happening. You accept your fate and make the most of it. You appreciate the things you can control, enjoy your time left and don't take for granted what you have.

How do I help prevent it? The government wants it and its media, its corporations and its women are very powerful weapons and allies.

Let it burn, enjoy life and try to have enough resources and skill to survive and if cornered and death is guaranteed go out with a righteous vengeance.
