Getting Over Your Ex-Girlfriend (self.MGTOW)

Hello there to all my great fellow mgtows of reddit. I'm 19 and I'm pretty new to the brotherhood, so to speak. I figured I would share my story and vent a little, as I feel fellow men of mgtow know exactly how I feel. So here it goes...

For all 4 of my high school years, I dated a girl that I thought was an absolute NAWALT. We loved eachother and everyone always said that we would be the ones to get married and have kids and I believed it. I couldn't see a future without this girl in my life. I met her parents, she met lots of my family, and I was in pretty good with most of her friends who also went to our school. Life was grand, we went to both junior and senior proms and had great nights. We had our problems, which mainly for me was a lack of vaginal sex which was hard to adhere to when she was blowing me and I wasn't cumming...but I digress.

Fast forward to the end of high school, the days I feared have finally arived. She was packing to go off to college and I wasn't. I intend to enter the military in the not too far off future, so I had to deal with her going away to college. We talked about how we could Skype and talk and text and we did...for a month or so after she went to college. Eventually, she answered less and less, I felt like a burden, we had much less to talk about and then she started saying how we had all these issues that I had no idea about and how we've grown apart. I didn't want to end our relationship, how could I? I put YEARS of work and emotions into it.

However, eventually she told me how she was forcing herself to set aside time for me and how she was always choosing between college or me and that made me feel awful. For days I was nervous, not knowing if the next time she called, if that would be the last time we spoke. The emotional stress on me was so great, that one day, a few months ago, I grew a pair and called her and told her that couldn't be so constantly worried and stressed out over her and that it was time to put our love to rest. This was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. It felt like my heart was torn in half every day and every time I thought of her, I just didn't want to live anymore.

These feelings turned to hate and disdain when I accidentally saw a tweet of hers while scrolling throughTwitter about how she saw a hot guy. NOT 3 WEEKS AFTER WE BROKE UP. Now every time I think of her and am saddened, it pushes me further towards MGTOW. A woman I thought was amazing, who I wanted to marry and have children with, as soon as we end our long relationship, and I'm in pain, she's scoping for new dick! I end my story by saying this, I love Star Wars. And Star Wars can be applied to my story, I was tricked and fooled, and so I have turned to the Dark Side. To all my mgtow brothers, embrace your Dark Side, and never again be seduced by the evil harpies who seek to hurt you. Peace out.

Yup, simply do not invest time, money, or emotion in a woman. It's a waste. Be glad you didn't marry her.

And I wouldn't call mgtow the dark side, lol. It's just about being highly observant and doing a cost/benefit analysis.

Well I think you called out something great about Star Wars. It is the struggle of good and evil with a man. Many people just cannot put their finger on why Star Wars was so big, see the interviews of stars and reporters trying to explain it and getting it all wrong.

With that said. You were fooled and tricked sure but turning toward the dark side would be, raping women, killing them, lying to them fucking them, taking their money, playing them. Stuff like that. I don't think that is what you are doing, so I do not think you have gone over to the dark side.

Unfortunately I have no advice on what to actually do though. But I know if I had enough power to hurt women, just as they have hurt me, I would not use it. Tempting as it would be.

That's always rough man, when you have to cut off a relationship with a girl that felt so right at one point. The hard truth is that there is a lot you didn't see of her, and only she knows what she was up to when she wasn't on Skype with you. Many of us end up breaking up with our "One" only to see they've entered into a new relationship with a man not DAYS after said break up. This means that she's been hunting for a new branch to monkey to for some time. Studies prove women have back-up plans for every relationship. They keep men around as orbiters just in case her current one doesn't work out. You might've seen this in the form of male friends she has little coffee dates with to "catch-up" or the men who text her jokes from psych 101 that she tells you about. The thing you have to keep in mind is that all relationships with women are temporary, and this is rooted in female solipsism, which is an evolved mechanism for dealing with survival after male death in the tribe. It means she is wired to easily cease emotional bonding with men who fail to continue to be useful to her. Hypergamy will force her to always keep her eyes open for someone "better" which means more money, status etc. The trouble with a mans emotional dependence toward a single female is that once they realize what their ex Lover actually is (a selfish, humanoid ape with the capacity for great harm, and not a perfect fairy princess) they have a difficult time reconciling what was because of the past being a lie, a falsehood, then what does that say about you and your ability to understand others, what's true, and how much you do not understand about yourself and reality. Like, "If she promised not to hurt me, and I believed her, but then she hurt me anyway, does that mean she was always cruel, or that I'm so stupid I couldn't see it? Where do I go from here with this knowledge?"

MGTOW is about knowing these small truths early on (no woman is a perfect princess, they're all humanoid apes, or mammals just like all the others, instinctual and imperfect, love isn't real, life is very difficult and short, and males view females as gods, or at least the rightfully protected class) so that you can avoid having to deal with discovering grim reality only in time to have it nearly kill you through divorce processes and child custody battles.
