DAPPAlphabet (Google parent) is building dApps, issuing a token? (self.ethtrader)

Long time lurker. A friend I met at a Silicon Valley Ethereum meetup sent me this, and it felt interesting enough to deserve a new post:

It looks like Alphabet (Google's parent company) is about to issue some sort of token for a set of dApps? If so, Alphabet could bring an army of engineers to Ethereum tech. We'll see.

The part that seems most scammy to me is "ABC represents an ownership // position in Alphabet's decentralized enterprise properties."

I have a very hard time seeing Google doing some kind of ICO giving people a stake in their (as-yet-nonexistent) "decentralized enterprise properties," given the lack of clarity from SEC over whether shares can be issued this way. The wording doesn't necessarily imply public ICO (could be some form of internal ownership tokens), but this seems phrased intentionally to inflame speculators' hopes that Google will do an ICO for some kind of decentralized Google shares on Ethereum. Totally ridiculous. They will not do that, and the fact that this seems to hint at that makes the chances near 100% that this is fake IMO.

Looks like someone sent that address like 1.9 ETH, then they sent it to someone who has $356,000 worth of ETH.

Hmm, very interesting. Contract created 2 days 10 hours ago.. Starts April 14th.. Seems too good to be true..?

I doub't it is real. Using scanurl, you can input:

https://scanurl.net/u/abc-xyz-ewqofrhsadflkjahfdlkwqaer (abc.xyz/ewqofrhsadflkjahfdlkwqaer)

Which gives the same result as abc.xyz/token.

abc.xyz/token gives you a 404, as does every other abc.xyz/*. Anyone could have done this.

What is interesting at first glance I thought that was just a place holder, but in fact it is their actual domain. I had to look it up, so I am not sure how many others know this:

Dude, abc.xyz is just Alphabet's domain name. It being mentioned in some code's comments doesn't exactly prove anything. Ethereum has enough going for it without this kind of amateur hour manipulation.

Regardless of whether or not this real, it does bring up an interesting question. When (not if) Google does join the space, how would they do it? Before I was convinced that they would never join forces with IBM, but now that Hyperledger is being positioned as a friend of Ethereum's, I'm not sure which way it could go...
