I left the Mormon church a few years ago, and trying to tell fellow members why (shady aspects of church history) was exactly like telling friends and family now about conspiracies. It's so easy to just put your head in the sand and pretend everything is okay. Hell, sometimes I revert back to that way of thinking just because it can get so damn depressing looking at the world with a critical eye.

The problem is that it can suck away the energy one needs to just live a normal life, everyday concerns are draining enough as is. When I'm doing a lot of research, I get kind of fried. It's still fascinating and I'd never want to stick my head in the sand, but I can understand why some people voluntarily do so. But those people are weak to their core. And those who can't entertain these ideas without getting angry or combative are the weakest.

I just can't believe some people are not even curious enough to simply look into things more..but I agree 100% with the whole getting fried part. I've actually been taking 3 or 4 day breaks every once in a while. I honestly get depreased at some stuff and need to come back refreshed.

There is only so much we can change, it's important to just enjoy life and fulfill what you want.

Immortal technique drops truth bombs left right and center. I love how he uses his music as medium to get people to wake the fuck up. I've got so much respect for this man and all that he represents. All his albums are a must listen.

The issue I have, and especially since this sub has been flooded with political spam, is how unwilling this community has become to entertain ideas and build on those discussions. Obviously a great deal of Reddit is heavily manipulated by entities trying to make money, avoid prison, and brainwash us consumers. But for those of us real people left, what is so scary about a thought? The Earth may not be flat, but enjoy the wonder that comes with understanding you have no idea who or where you are. Alien tech, Atlantis, Antarctica, the moon, ancient civs, DUMBs, etc. I hope you all understand this political spam is noise, used to limit discussion. It is used to create ideas and ensure that ideas are not shared. It is used to make sure we never organize again like we did with PG. All this political spam and these accounts telling us there is nothing to see here, move the fuck past all of it and start asking bigger questions. We aren't conspiracy theorists, just people who seem to be shaken from their slumber and are discovering a new sense of curiosity and skepticism regarding how we ended up here today

The political noise is the result of growing social media over the years. It is because people are so shocked, they are drawn to the discussion like a fly to the light. We are now in a time when more and more people are waking up to the real screw job hand we have been dealt. Now that more and more people are becoming conscience of this reality, they want to change it. We are living in a real reality TV show of politics. Obama was the 1st Political reality TV star. Just look at the popularity, and media that bowed down to him.

This is the actually a great example of cognitive dissonance.

For the blue pill world, conspiracy theories pull the rug from under their illusionary and idealized world view and instead of updating their world view (using their own critical thinking) they reject it and double down.

Never go full retard!

I don't think it's that. I think it's more that they don't believe they could be wrong about something that an authority told them

I like technique but he gets too hyped on this shit. I was at a concert of his and he just started going off on random subjects, his boys/bodyguards looked at each other like; "not this shit again". He's extremely intelligent, but like a lot of conspiracy theorist's he doesn't know when to turn it off and quit being so aggressive. Yes it's the truth, but most people he's talking about live in a fantasy world crafted for them by television and media. So when you try and wake these people up, aggressively pursuing your ideas might seem threatening to people. He's a good dude though and I applaud him for speaking up when so many of his contempararies are living that material bullshit fake life.

I get annoyed, especially recently, by other conspiracy theorists as they seem to be more interested in pushing narratives themselves instead of asking questions and doing research. Just think of how many inaccurate politically motivated post titles we see posted here that attempt to push a narrative. So many seem happy to accept it due to confirmation bias.

It's certainly selection bias on my part as Reddit is one of the few places that I discuss them. When, instead of a discussion, you receive accusations of shilling and other intellectually lazy comments... it gets old. It's a shame that some really well thought out ideas get lost in all of the political noise.

Yeah.... that and the fact that some of them show up at memorials for dead kids killed in a mass elementary school shooting claiming the parents are liars and their kids are alive.

People tend to hate them because of their smug 'I know whats going on and you dont you stupid sheeple' high and mighty attitude.

But no, we cant say it can we, we're either with them or we're sheeple for not swallowing whatever you throw at us. And when it comes out that you guys are wrong, what? Oh im sorry we were wrong. Bloody hell. And some of you cant even admit to it. Oh my god, it was the govt trying to trick us, its their fault. Some of you are just so gullible that you swallow whatever garbage is thrown at you as long as it sounds like dirt against who you are up against

[–]JustTellMeTheFacts -2 ポイント-1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

No.

Conspiracy theorists are not liked because of the nature of their doing. A conspiracy theory is a baseless claim that uses tactics to change and distort the truth to fit a narrative. And, as evidenced by Trump and his constant stream of bullshit, people are willing to believe in a LOT of crazy shit. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe there's a desire to be part of a group, maybe they are naïve and just accept things as they're presented, or maybe they want to be different. Either way, they've been getting a lot more shit because when you start a conspiracy based on no evidence, and it winds up getting people hurt, you're going to get some bad PR.

Everyone here wants to call the shooting at the Pizzeria a false flag, but what you don't realize is that the majority of AMericans are still watching mainstream news, and the MSM isn't going to call that a false flag. Therefore, people aren't going to give credence to the idea of a false flag because it's not as apparent as it needs to be. Some people need the writing to be right there on the wall, but with conspiracy theorists, the writing just has to be there, somewhere, it doesn't matter, and they'll take it and run with it.
