US Military Retirement garnished as community property. (self.MGTOW)

The Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act (USFSPA), Title 10, United States Code, Section 1408, passed in 1981, accomplishes two things. First, it authorizes (but does not require) State courts to divide military retired pay as a marital asset or as community property in a divorce proceeding. Second, it provides a mechanism for a former spouse to enforce a retired pay as property award by direct payments from the member’s retired pay. Retired pay as property payments are prospective only. Retired pay arrears cannot be collected under the USFSPA.

My ex spouse was awarded 25 percent of my retirement pay for life in an Arizona divorce court. She was cheating on me while I was deployed and eventually married the older rich guy she was seeing at the time. Fast forward 16 years, she is divorcing him and he is having to sell half of his many rental properties to cash her up. Insert Y Tho meme here.

Yep. My brother got taken hard on the military retirement on his fourth marriage. I felt no pity for him though. He is a stupid piece of shit that does most of the things we castigate women for here, and he should have known better. He is now on number 5 and she is staying with him long enough to pry a small fortune from him. He is an idiot.

I know, right. I feel stupid I had to go back for seconds. He has cheated on every one of them (except i don't think he is with this last one. She is the best looking one he has had and she has him wrapped around her finger). I don't know why he keeps marrying. He knows you don't have to marry for sex. It is like he has this need for women to own the benefits of his hard work. smdh.

I knew a guy that had 18 years in the Navy enlisted. Things started to fall apart with his wife. He knew she would get a portion of his retirement for life, so he voluntarily left the military before he qualified for retirement so his ex wife couldn't cash out. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Kind of like cutting off your nose to spite your face but then again he made sure that bitch got nothing.

Damn, many stories on here make me want to punch thru drywall, but - military pension should be SACRED. After all these years, I'm glad I got out after 4 years, I was so stupid back then, I would have married 100%
