About this project
You probably love Sherlock Holmes stories - that's why you're reading this. Guess what? So do I.
When I started making comics as a teenager, Sherlock Holmes was already one of my favorite characters. I had read all of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, but I wasn't yet ready to tell this story...
Sherlock Holmes vs. the Caterpillar Men has grown in my mind for years. This is a strange, strange story. There will be a variety of storytelling techniques in the book -- comics, prose, illustrated short stories -- that combine to make a larger narrative.
I love this graphic novel, and I think you're going to love it too. It is equal parts mystery, suspense, horror, fantasy, and science fiction. Imagine Jorge Luis Borges, H.P. Lovecraft, David Lynch, Grant Morrison, Thomas Pynchon, Alan Moore, Robert Crumb, Mark Leyner, and Philip K. Dick collaborating on a Sherlock Holmes story, and you'll get an idea of what I'm going for. I want to respect the spirit of Sherlock Holmes while still taking him into new territory.
You probably want to be at least 12 to read this book, so I'll just say:
***For mature readers.***
I've filled multiple notebooks at this point, and I'm ready to get started. Take a look at my previous comics below to see what my storytelling looks like. But keep in mind, I want to take this comic to a whole 'nother level.
BATMAN
Here are some pages from a 40-page Batman story I did last year. First, Alfred has an accident.
Later, Batman is drugged. He has an accident too. People are always having accidents.
STAR WARS
I also did a 40-page Star Wars comic in 2016. Here, Darth Vader crashes (another accident!).
Yoda and Luke have a talk.
A wookiee gets mad at Luke.
SHERLOCK HOLMES
And now it's time for Sherlock Holmes. Will this story be made? That's really up to you. Every dollar helps. A mere $5 gets you the whole book! $25 gets you Sherlock Holmes vs. the Caterpillar Men plus my other two comics!
In the video I say Sherlock Holmes vs. the Caterpillar Men will be 40-60 pages long, but that's a conservative estimate. In truth, I think it'll be longer and an even greater value! I'm dedicated to packing this mother with as much story as I can.
I've got some great rewards for different donation levels. Check them out, and please help any way you can. Thank you!

Risks and challenges
The story is plotted out and I've done preliminary sketches. Once funding is complete, I'll begin work on the comic itself. I've allowed myself until November to make sure I have enough time. The story may grow and art can take a while, you know?
There's a risk I may go crazy making this comic. There's a risk you may go crazy reading it. Let's take a gamble on our collective sanity. WHY NOT?????
