Kurt Zouma?? (self.reddevils)

What do you guys think of Zouma? Played well under Mourinho but not given a look under Conte. Surely better than Smalling but good enough?

Chelsea will never let him leave considering the old age of most of their defense . Cahill is 31 years old and David luiz next year will be 30 .John terry is finished and will probably leave .

They'll need a young defender no matter what .

I like him but he's not enough of an upgrade on what we have. We need someone who's world class now, not in a few years.

Yeah, i agree especially with Axel hopefully still in the pipeline. I just really want another rock with Bailly so we can fully commit to the attack

We already have players like Tuanzebe who will be great in the future, but we need somebody who is great now. My choice would be Giminez from Atletico

Regan Poole, Tyrell Warren (although he's more of a RB) and Roshaun Williams

Kneejerk reactions are ten a penny on this sub and down talking Smalling is a fine example.

He gets a bad rap because he looks so much like a donkey, particularly when he's on the ball. He's also not an exciting defender like Bailly, but he's a safe one.

He's got an intelligent football brain, good movement and incredible strength. He also seems to have an impressive mentality and work rate.

He's been among the best CBs in the league the past few seasons. Don't let a slight dip in form cloud that.

Top class CBs are hard to come by, and I genuinely believe we've got a few at the club right now.

I'm not against bringing in another CB, but don't think that Smalling deserves to be shipped out. I think we'd be sorry if he was.
