Hey, you may remember me from my first post which hit the frontpage of reddit and #1 in r/overwatch (thanks for the massive support from everyone) because of my unfair ban from the r/overwatch discord server. The admins on r/overwatch continuously overstep their boundaries to ban not who they deem guilty of harassment or other abuse, but who they might dislike or show them in a bad light, I tried posting this as a civilized request on the r/overwatch subreddit but I instantly got my post deleted and I got banned from the subreddit , I'm quite sure this is because of the bad light they got seen in by my 5k upvote previous post that they did not want to see reinacted (not suspicious? :) ) This is not an issue that solely abides to r/overwatch admins, but to all the reddit admins who abuse their power with no consequence, it is time to do something about it. I must say that the way the admins handled the situation was honorable, and in the end the reason to my ban was deemed to be moderators having misunderstood the situation and being overzealous in certain scenarios. Everything went on fine for the past few days, and there were no signs of negative interaction between the mods and me. Until today. Today I was banned from the discord server again, for another reason which is completely unjustifiable on a logical basis. Now you may find it hard to believe that I was banned a second time and still have done nothing wrong, but unfair bans are a very common occurance in r/overwatch and I' myself have witnessed a few. I'ts simply the fact that people usually don't go through the hassle of posting on reddit because of it, but I believe that the abuse of any kind of power is wrong and that moderators of such massive servers should learn to assess situations better. So today I got banned because me and a friend were talking to eachother in general discussion chat. He made a joke about me being a westerner, and I said "arabs lol". This was when I got my first warning of harassment, even though I was just joking to a friend, mods however did not care. Then a female user said in chat " hard to scream with pieces of glass down your throat" and as she was quiet in chat , I said, " you might wanna do something about the glass in your throat", that is when a moderator by the name of 'Juvia' said "that's it you're gone" and I was banned. I messaged the moderator asking for a reason and he said it was because of previous harassment. I asked what harassment? and showed him evidence of me and the user in general discussion being friends and just messing with eachother. Even though the moderator (Juvia) realized he was in the wrong, he then proceeded to say he has "photographic/video evidence of me harassing 4 other users" on the same day. I was not even on the server before the joke with my friend, and seeing how preposterous his allegations were I asked for the evidence as I knew there was none. I was denied any proof , and was spammed with a message of <"This discussion is over. If you want to know why you were banned, I will give you a chance to reread the rules."> every time I tried to ask for the evidence. Hope this can gain enough support, at this point I don't even care about being unbanned, I simply want the mod situation to be fixed, as people being treated unfairly because of power-abusing mods is not by any means rational on such a large and public server. Thanks for the read everyone!
TLDR: moderator by the name of 'Juvia' bans me over a clear joke with no mean intent, accuses me of harassing 4 other users with photographic and video evidence in the same day ( I wasn't even online before) and denies my civilized request of the evidence, simply spamming me with an automated evidence about rereading the rules when I re-asked politely to have the evidence. There is clearly no evidence to why I got banned and no good reason, I try to post on the subreddit for r/overwatch and I get my post deleted and banned from posting on the subreddit, How can my rights to demand an explanation of an unjustifiable ban be stripped from me like that with no consequence? I truly believe that the admins simply don't want to be seen in a bad light and will continue to abuse their power "because they can". This is not an issue that solely abides to r/overwatch admins, but to all the reddit admins who abuse their power with no consequence, it is time to do something about it.
