The De Gea/Lindegaard situation came about through with DDG simply not being right for the PL at that point. It's something you risk with all these foreign keepers as they face a different type of football where the keepers do get challenged (Even Romero while he made some good saves early on he also has plenty of moments). The fact we could take DDG out of the firing line was a big reason he was able to kick on rather than having his confidence smashed and his development hence held back.

So having someone younger who may be more willing to play second fiddle for a season or so while they adjust may be better than going for someone who is already established and would expect to be starting every game
