Seriously, if the GOP has to spend money on this race with a +30 GOP tint, the 2018 midterms could get very interesting.

It won't help. In what was once a ruby red slipper district, a Democrat with integrity showed up. Bets off, but looks like it's going blue.

Who are they spending it with? Voters can spot a bad paid caller and it reduces the $$$'s effectiveness
