5' United have started better and are on the front foot immediately. The only shot at goal has been a teasing effort from Lingard that Pickford saved well. We have a free kick and what I wouldn't give for an early goal...

10' United looking very comfortable on the ball and have had space to move and pass around. No major chances as of yet. Ibra's free kick earlier hit the wall and went out for a corner that resulted in nothing.

14' MANCHESTER UNITED YELLOW CARD Shaw gets booked for flying into the back of Ndong.

15' Sunderland have started to grow into the game and are trying to surge forward whenever they have the ball.

20' Sunderland had a free kick that bounced straight to Romero but United couldn't capitalise on the counter. As usual, our final ball is lacking.

25' Honestly, it's not even like Sunderland are parking the bus.. We just can't find a way through in the final third.

28' Sunderland have looked very good in the last few minutes and Defoe is played in over the top but he's offside. He missed his shot but it wouldn't have counted anyway.

29' MANCHESTER UNITED GOAL IBRAHIMOVIC SCORES A WONDERFUL GOAL! Herrera feeds it to Ibra on the edge of the box as Zlatan holds off a defender. He then turns, takes a touch, and curls it into the far corner! What a goal! United lead and kills Sunderland's momentum!

34' UNITED COME CLOSE! Ibrahimovic feeds Shaw through on the left and the defender's cut-back from the by-line to Fellaini is inch-perfect but Fellaini's left-footed shot can only strike Oviedo's body who was marking him closely!

37' SUNDERLAND SUBSTITUTION Manquillo ON || Oviedo OFF

37' Oviedo's pulled something and can't continue.

39' Romero keeps us ahead! The ball is played in from the wing to Anichebe who controls well and turns the defender before trying to strike with his left foot from about 3 yards out but Romero gets out well to smother it and save!

42' SUNDERLAND RED CARD Larsson gets sent off for a lunging tackle that he made on Herrera. Looks harsh in all honesty..

    Honestly, I think it's time to realize we're in a different league to Spurs and Chelsea. Something seriously still needs to change. We don't look dangerous, just passing around the edge of the box. We don't have a player who can convert most of the opportunities like Kane, Alli, Hazard, Costa, etc. And our crossing has to be the worst in the league. Never lands on our player despite doing it 100 times per game. And we have such tall players! How can we note convert more aerial opportunities?

    Personally I don't see how that red card can be considered 'harsh'. He came in hard and fast, over the ball, studs up. It looked awful on the real-time replay, super slowmo didn't do it justice.

    I thought the sending off was a yellow at first. But I'm undecided. Clear case for an orange card (no).

    I dunno I think it's one of those decisions you'll never get consensus on, so video refs would be useless on that one. Best to err on the side of the referee in those cases imo.

    Mkhi has been useless so far. Lingard good movement but not getting fed through balls. Pogba running up close to players with the ball too much and gets the ball facing the wrong way in our half. Feels like the problems we've had all season are still there
