Didn't YouTube used to be like this? Like I remember writing an email begging to be partnered explaining how good my channel to get ads.

what
@MatPatGT means is unmonetized videos do not get featured, are harder to find and lead to smaller viewership thus (1/2) -
destroying the small channels. Its easy for a large channel to say "its not bad" because they do not have to worry about it.
-
Look at large channels first videos. They are shit because it wasn't until they stared to earn something to put back into their channels....
-
that their production quality went up. This makes youtube pay to win environment.

It's less than 10K total views. Not per video, total.
-
Agreed but unless you uploaded a video 1+ years ago, it's going to be hard to rack up 10K (unless you go viral)
-
Anyone can get 10k if they work hard at it and really want it, getting 10k views is not a viral miracle that hardly ever happens
-
Good point, it's not hard for a committed YouTuber to reach 10K. But it's harder for channels that don't update their content often.
-
I have a video that I made when I was 9 that has 14k views... lol
-
Exactly. Either post things early, stay committed to uploading and promote your channel or go viral. There doesn't seem to be another way.

honestly with so many youtubers out there, its good that the person needs to put some work to get any recognition.
-
But messing with the algorithm will make it next to impossible for smaller and newer creators to reach an audience
