Do you think we'd buy Lukaku even if we brought back ZLATAN?

And if so would we just run a diamond at that point?

Was curious.

Impossible . Both will want to play as a starter , and Jose always depends on one striker in front .

He sometimes used Milito and Eto'o upfront at Inter, and he also used a 4-4-2 at Porto, with Deco behind the two strikers (in the CL final against Monaco, as an example). So even if he generally favours a lone striker what you're saying is not entirely correct.

However, on the course of an entire season I can't see this happening.

You're talking about some things that happen from +7 years ago . Managers' ideas change over time you know .

Regarding the partnership between them , it seems very interesting . Zlatan will be the one dropping more to help in link up and building the attack while Lukaku remains up top as a target to score the chances he gets . Yeah it may very well work together but as you know this is talking on paper , need to see it on the pitch to know if it'll really work or not .

I think Lukaku will be going to Chelsea anyway .

It'll be hard to play a diamond without sacrificing at least one of Mata, Mkhi, Rashford or Martial. We'd also need to bring in a holding midfielder to handle distribution, win balls and slow down/speed up the tempo of the game for it work.

So in that sense, Lukaku only comes if Zlatan isn't on our team next year then yeah?

I don't see Griezmann happening this Summer, but I think we will bring in a scorer/attacker.
