An accurate one, many of my coworkers said.
"I think it's true," Jessica Torres, Revelist's lifestyle producer said. "A lot of guys don't want to date fat girls when these were the ones they probably taught to make fun of."
Revelist's managing editor, Lauren Gordon, agreed.
"This is a super sad reality for a lot of women," she said. "And for a lot men. Sometimes dudes shame other dudes for their choices in women. They put their masculinity in danger" by admitting attraction to a type of woman that society has told them is undesirable.
Plus-size women, Gordon said, "accept the love they think they deserve, and in turn men are denying themselves happiness and are made to feel like their choice is a fetish and not a preference."
However you land on the spectrum of this debate, it's bound to bring up a different sentiment for every woman, plus-size or not.
