Hey Everyone!

With the certifications in hand, we were finally able to engrave all the logos on the printers. We are now confident that there will be no issues with customs. Starting March 23rd we will begin delivering printers to the first backers!

-

Also on March 23, we’ll be showcasing ONO at the Luxury Technology Show in New York City. To kick off the deliveries, we have randomly selected 5 backers from the NY area to receive their printers directly from the founders at the event.

We admit, we are starting a bit behind schedule than initially announced. Since we are now officially up and running, UL inspectors have come to certify that our facility is safe and that our production line is following the claims made in the certifications we obtained. It took longer than expected, but we are now in full production mode!

Here’s a video of the process to create the logo LED interface at the top of the printer. All this machinery and processing is required just for this tiny part!

@Cory - every time I have an email conversation with them, I tell them exactly that. I try to re-assure them its ok to comment, you'll always have the trolls so you need to take one on the chin from time to time but we respect transparency and honesty - even if its bad news, we appreciate that you'll tell us.

But they just dance around that with "thanks for the input".

    2. Cory Zerwas about 16 hours ago

It would be very nice if the ONO team sent a shipping update. I am a little frustrated that the ONO team hasn't been very transparent about their delays and keep making commitments that I'm pretty sure they have doubts about being able to honor. I am absolutely livid over the fact that they have not been replying to the majority of backer inquiries and that they know we are rabble rabble rabble in the comments, refuse to participate in comments, then have the gall to complain about negative backer sentiment at shows.

We want to be part of the process, no matter how long it takes. You're a 3D Printer project, which as of late similar projects have had pretty spectacular development failures. If you can't handle having real adult conversations about expectations with your backers you should not put a project here.

so they are not shipping mugs with this now??? I am supposed to go to the survey again for a size for a t-shirt???? WTF there just seems to be one thing after another. to boot, I can't even open my survey to give them a size. what am I missing?

    5. Lord Lethris 2 days ago

@Kate I got a sneaky suspicion that Gravity Sketch and Sketch fab Beta apps are whats going to be used to print.... maybe.

There is a bit of Ho-Ha about it in the campaign page.

    6. Kate Thomson 2 days ago

A big concern people seem to be missing is the app. No word on progress of the app. Can't print anything without the app on your phone, so even if you get your package today, it is essentially a brick until the app is available.

Just in case peeps did not know
"We will be shipping in the most efficient way possible. Unfortunately, due to the world-wide nature of the campaign, it is impossible to ship packages in the order the pledges were received. We are going to start shipping in the U.S. as first Country, it’s a matter of days and our American backers will be notified the tracking numbers.

Thank you for your support, and for your patience!"

I can only speculate, but assuming the product is viable, shipping 10,000+ units is a major undertaking for a new company that doesn't have much experience in shipping 1000. ;)

If they are using a fulfillment service they may have found that implementing the actual shipping takes longer than anticipated. And, as a Kickstarter creator myself, determining just how much to tell the backers about what is happening can be a "Damned if you do! Damned if you don't!" scenario. I prefer to be damned if I do. Even though the news is not good and another delay in delivery is expected, as a backer at least I know where I stand, instead of floating in the ether of ignorance.

Because of the nature of crowdfunding, a class action suit, I believe, would only be feasible IF there were no effort on the part of the project creator to deliver the promised rewards (and they are REWARDS for backing the project, should it be successful, which is different from ordering an established product). And given that it's been a year since funding, and they are still posting updates, I'm pretty sure that they are making those efforts to bring the project to life.

As far as refunds go, forget it. They are under no obligation to refund anyone. The money that was pledge and contributed is spent toward bringing the project to life. If it is brought to life, we backers can expect the reward for participating in funding its genesis.

If any of you have filed a dispute with your CC company, I'm sure that you have found it denied because of the nature of the transaction is not a purchase of a product, but an investment with risk.

Ultimately, do not pledge to a crowdfunding project with funds that you can not afford to lose.

OLO, if you are listening (and I hope you are) we want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I guess we will get the printers at 2018.

    13. Michelle 4 days ago

I really hope that @Creator understands that the more they lead us around by the nose giving us the bare minimum for updates while we continue to look at our empty hands awaiting the printers they have said we would have in our hands, they one day will be looking at their hands wondering where their customers are.

I don't see how they will stay in business after the honeymoon is over and we stop purchasing resin and have moved on due to poor customer service...

Boy I hope I am wrong.

    14. Lord Lethris 4 days ago

      I agree with @Adam (I always have)
However, there is NO excuse for the shear lack of fu*k all interactive communication in the comments and the absolute bear minimum updates, and the complete absence of explanation to their failure of their claim from Feb 3rd update "Every backer will have their printer(s) in hand by the end of March!"

It has been, and continue to be, Unacceptable. Especially when they have a "Community Engagement" role/lead/department. Because there has been sweet fu*k all "Community Engagement" thought the whole damn campaign.!!!!

Feel free to search through the comments, not a single evidence of communication engagement from anyone on the @Creators admin list.!

It amazes me how bloody entitled a lot of backers happen to be. Reminder, you are not buying a product. This is not a store. There is not a backroom with stock just piled everywhere. This is not a tried and true manufacturing process where they know all the ins and outs and have had it locked down. They are just as new to this as we are. They have provided plenty of comprehensive updates. Should we be given another update since the "new" projected delivery day has come and gone? Sure, but considering that they had planned to start delivering in large quantities at this point, do you think maybe, just maybe they might be pretty damn busy right now trying to meet that goal? In short, cool your God damn jets, it's on the way.

    17. Alastair Low 4 days ago

Im sure there will be an april update, hopefuly with delevery conformation :)

    18. Phil 5 days ago

@Alfonso Vitela. Nope did not think it would happen. Thought delivering 5 was "just" enough to stop too many people going to the show organisers to complain they were scamming people. Looks like I was right there.
Class Action sounds tempting but you can't get money out of a stone.
Best solution is on 20th to ensure we contact every site that publicised the project 12 months ago, and outline the situation - OLO/ONO seem to value publicity more than anything else, and likely the only thing that will be productive. It might even just elicit a reply?

    19. Michelle 5 days ago

Today is 4th of April and still no sign of ONO/OLO. I would greatly appreciate that someone contact with me and explain what's going and WHY there is so much delay in whole process. I know that production and preparation of this is time consuming but on 20th of April it will be a whole year after Kickstarter campain has ended. That's frustrating...

how about a Class Action Lawsuit.. anyone in?

    25. Phil 6 days ago

      @Harold Laski
      I think the answers are:-

      Q1:- None
      Q2:- None
Q3:- Not even thought about it yet - probably start within a month or two if you are lucky, maybe quite a bit longer.

I said before sometime ago my personal opinion is that if they last long enough to ship then it will be complete by September. Nothing has changed my mind on that estimation. Nothing has changed since the promises made in early December and we are now in early April. They are very good (if frustrating) at stalling and have pushed it 4 months with no investor measurable progress - i.e. no real deliveries and they don't seem near ready to start shipping. Pushing it another 4 months with modest evasive (good news about the bad news type updates) seems quite achievable. Personally I would be happier to hear they had investment from a third party because I think the problems and delays stem from a lack of experience and a lack of finances.

Things are happening. Deliveries wont be any time soon so its a matter of being patient, crossing our fingers and hoping the company lasts long enough to fulfill our orders. The creators don't engage with this forum so asking about deliveries on here is pointless - I'm sure an email once its on its way is a given, and also that once some start to be delivered people will be quick to post on here.

Last update March 22nd stated "Deliveries Start on March 23!." Question 1, apart from the 5 "delivered" in NYC to the "lucky" backers how many have actually been shipped and delivered to other backers? Q2: How many are you shipping and delivering daily, weekly? Q3: When do you expect to complete shipping and delivery to backers?

I'm so much happier now I've seen these manufacturing videos. Having spent some time working in a factory like this, I know that you can't easily or cheaply fake automation like this, so it provides a huge boost in confidence that our rewards aren't too far off.

Thanks for all the hard work.

    32. Jimmy Howell on March 31

I am backer #912 and I still have not received any communication about delivery. I have triple checked my shipping information is correct which has been for a very long time.

I am extremely patient not want to rush things so that it ensures that the product I receive it's in good working device.

Although when you see that there is an update that the unit is shipping on a Kickstarter update, and then you don't receive any further information or tracking numbers it becomes disheartening as a backer.

Has there been some further delays? Will I be receiving an email with tracking number?

    33. Christopher Northwood on March 30

We could really do with some kind of update to actually let us know when we might receive this!

Maybe a breakdown by country or something?

    37. JasonR on March 29

@D "...now that you say you are shipping".. no, they aren't shipping.. They SHIPPED up to 5.. non-working printers. So they have started (and completed?) shipping as promised. They are no longer shipping (otherwise backer surveys would be locked). They promised, to start (they never claimed it would be a working printer), and they did. Job well done!

    47. JasonR on March 26

The update said they would start delivering it to backers last week.. From the account we have they handed one to SlimJim.. So, they did in fact start delivering them... Sure, it's not a working version... Even if the others are delayed another 6 months while "they wait for Apple's approval process" (The average approval time is currently 2 days) they can say they have fulfilled their claim in this update.
