A little while ago I wrote about something I learned from working with women. I happen to work with a lot of women so I thought I would share more of my observations. In my first post I noticed that men have the tendency to dominate other men in the workplace, unless they're working toward a common goal. We know that men have this instinct but I believe I underestimated the degree to which women have it too.
Dominance is a measure of power and power makes us feel secure. I believe that women have the dominance instinct every bit as much as men, their problem is that they lack the same kind of physical agency that men have. Women overcome this limitation by recruiting men to do it for them. The most obvious way this happens is through a direct exchange of sex for power, however women also recruit men with whom they have no intention of making this exchange. These are men not worthy of the exchange but who can nevertheless be useful to the woman. Beta orbiters. She does this by assuming a pretence of vulnerability which activates the male drive to protect the female. Her developed mind doesn't understand the behaviour her primitive mind compels her to do. This is not something passed down to her, she takes no time to prepare a strategy, she just lets nature take over and we dance like marionettes.
I have never seen power exploited like I have when women are put in charge of men.
Just some thoughts.
