Although I wasn't assaulted, I recognize the situation the OP mentioned because one time I was in a blind date with a girl. The girl actually liked me but I was in bad luck because her father happens to be protective and threatened me to stop seeing her. I just found out recently he was a former mobster and another guy who was secretly dating the girl just go hospitalized (with serious signs of battery in his injuries). There's no evidence to sue the dad but I wouldn't be surprised if he hired a thug to attack the new love suitor and I'm glad I left this girl ASAP after her mobster dad threatened me.
Still I'm quite curious because you never see say someone like Indiana Jones have to defend himself from an ex who's still clinging to a girl he just slept with last night in movies and TV.
I mean people like John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey from Wedding Crasher can go around banging random hotties without somehow attracting the attention of a conservative religious father or overprotective mother who believes in "feminine virtues".
Even irl you never hear about real life hot guys who get girls all the time such as George Clooney and of course the famed Giacomo Casanova getting assaulted because a girl who isn't interested told her boyfriend to beat them up.
