About this project
I have recently been seeing a lot of these Bath Bombs on the internet. I bought several ones from different places (Lush, Amazon, Etsy.. you name it!) But although most of them were really fun and colorful, I noticed that they didn't really provide me with the experience I was expecting, which is to leave my body hydrated and moisturized at the end of a nice and warm bath. So I decided to make my own! And I bought some really expensive and premium essential oils from overseas to make sure I have the best experience possible.
I loved it! Not only I got the moisture I was expecting, but the smell was also fantastic and I was truly able to relax and de-stress. After a while, I decided, why not share with everyone else? and what other platform than Kickstarter is there to do this, where people are so encouraging and supportive of other people's dreams?
Before I introduce you to my project allow to to first clarify something; I made all of these bath bombs myself and only bought the primary ingredients. They are therefore 100% handmade. Also, before going into this, I sat down for an hour or two, made some research about aromatherapy and decided of what would be the best recipe for each bath bomb, and for what purpose. I therefore came up with 6 different recipes, and then moved on to the color choice. I did some marketing and know that different colors have different connotations. For example, red is associated with passion or energy, yellow is a mood-boosting color, green is calming etc... which brought me here:
6 different recipes, distinct colors and smells, made with no less than 14 different essential oils.
These premium bath bombs are made with only the finest ingredients and essential oils. No less than 14 essential oils (Orange, Tangerine, Lavender, Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Rosemary, Clary Sage) were used in the making of these bath bombs as well as the most important ingredient of all : LOVE! Each bath bomb has a different purpose and use to it.
Red is ENERGIZING: made with grapefruit, bergamot and peppermint.
Blue is SLEEP: made with Tangerine and orange oils (cold pressed) as well as Lavender, Chamomile, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood (Steam distilled)
Green is BREATHE EASY: made with peppermint and eucalyptus
Yellow is MOOD BOOSTING: made with bergamot, orange and lemon
White is STRESS RELIEF: made with rosemary, lavender and clary sage and finally, Purple is ROMANCE: made with jasmine and Ylang Ylang
Risks and challenges
I am not a salesman. My purpose when launching this product is not to make money, but rather, to see if there is a demand for this kind of product, and maybe consider starting something later on, if this project really works. I am making NO profit on this specific project, but I am not losing money either. I am barely charging for what it costs me to make the bath bombs and ship them. My goal is to introduce my product to the market and make connections.
Also, since Kickstarter doesn't calculate the shipping fees, and because it doesn't allow us to enter different rates for different states and areas in the United States, I had to apply the same shipping fee of $8 for all the locations in the U.S. so if I am able to ship the product for less than that, I will either pay you the difference back or add something to the package.
But if, in the contrary, I ended up charging you less than what it costs me to ship, I won't make you pay for the difference and the difference will come out of my own pocket :)
