'Eight new signings and a Jose team'

Neville feels Mourinho has similarly given plenty of chances to his squad, who lie sixth in the Premier League table, four points and two places behind Manchester City who hold the final Champions League qualifying spot.

They could still qualify for the lucrative Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Neville, who spent a decade at United as a player, said many members of the squad seemed nervous at home, which had played a part in them drawing nine games at Old Trafford.

"If anything goes drastically wrong and they are knocked out of the Europa League or struggle to qualify in the top four, I think Jose Mourinho will make major changes," added Neville.

"He's given this team a year now to prove themselves: the Chris Smallings, the Phil Jones, the Marcos Rojos, the Daley Blinds of this world - if they don't perform from now until the end of the season I think you'll see six, seven, maybe eight new signings in the summer and a real Jose Mourinho-type team picked."

Just wanted opinions on this. We've had three managers post Fergie, LVG and Mou certainly with an awful lot of success and pedigree behind them, even with some additions this season we haven't really moved forwards in terms of position though lots of

Do we need a radical overhaul, surely we wont sign that many in one go but is it justified, is the problem the squad we have?

He's already said he doesn't want more than 4, it will be the same as the last window.

we might sign more then 4, not all stars, don't forget we lost a lot of players this season, we'll probably lose more, we'll need to increase our squad depth with quality.

Think again, it will be at least one player in each position (not taking into consideration any departures too). Priorities this summer should be getting at least two top attacking players, a striker and a creative player behind.

Yes, an injection in attack is massively needed. I think we're nearly there, I think Miki and Pogba offer a lot and I wouldn't play Pogba deep so perhaps a solid beast in the middle too as well as a top, top striker and the creative spark just behind.

Left Back - depends on Shaw but seems likely at this point

CB - Smalling might go and be replaced with someone with better distribution and less panicky on the ball. I can also see Blind moving elsewhere for more game time, especially if we make defensive signings.

RB - Depends on what position Jose sees TFM as i suppose, he seems to see him more as a midfielder and the only backup we have for Tony is Darmian who could possibly be off back to Italy in the summer.

DM - again sort of depends on Jose's plans for TFM but a signing here seems very likely.

CM/AMF - not sure i see us signing anyone in these positions unless we have players who want to move elsewhere

Forwards - I'd say it's very likely we sign at least one forward even if Zlatan stays and 2 if he leaves, especially if we end up in the Champions League. Our backups just aren't getting it done.

8 is unlikely but i'd say it's quite possible we'll sign maybe 5 or 6.

He's had one season with them, given chances to players. Everyone's had a run and some have done better than others. He will have taken note and a couple will leave, a couple will come that fit his style of player more he won't sign 8 obviously.

I have utter faith in what's to come under Jose, we show promise. We've been terrible at home and are struggling to break teams down but I'm sure he's very aware of those and so are the men in charge of bringing new players in.

In my mind there is 2 things we need, a central play maker as nobody is making that position there own. (All doing better out wide than central and we're crossing when we can't break a team down - pogba you could argue but he's playing a little deeper than a player who would be sliding balls into the forward) and a defensive leader which is a little vague but I mean a bloody champion of the back line which we've lacked since rio and vidic. As a third a good quality striker would help share the work load. For the past 20 years we've typically had 4 in a squad, we've had 1-2 for the last couple of years.

I think in general we have some very good wingers, the midfield is good in deep areas but lacks a good central attacking one. The right half of the defence is solid with Tony there but the CB pairing has been unstable this season and I'm fairly sure everyone's had a go at left back this year so that's an area of concern. Shaw we'd hope in an ideal world would do what he was doing before his injuries.

However I've always heard/said the making of a good side is to defend well first, we've not lost much this season and have one of the best defences in the league. Looking forward if we can take that and build a better attack. I'm happy with the direction the club is going and looking forward to next season.
