Nostalgia is kicking in...I miss old anime like this. Everything now just seems like knockoffs of everything from Kyo-ani during the mid 2000s. I swear its hard as hell to find something decent these days. Its been leading me onto going back and watching some older ones lol

+NinjaNick96 I thought the first half of SAO was decent, but I wouldn't tell somebody to watch it either. I'd recommend Space Brothers, Chihayafuru, and Hunter x Hunter (2011 version). Space Brothers is about two brothers striving to become astronauts, and all the main characters are grown adults, which is refreshing. Chihayafuru is a shojo/sports anime that's just all around heartwarming with lovable characters (if you're open minded with shojo anime, it's worth checking out). Hunter x Hunter is by the author of Yu Yu Hakusho. The first couple of episodes might feel typical, but it starts out that way for a reason and by no means is the rest of the show your run of the mill shounen series. This is the only shounen fighting anime I've been following since DBZ and the first few seasons of Naruto ended airing on toonami back when. Hunter x Hunter is the only mainstream anime on this list, but if you're looking for more anime like Space Dandy that are more accessible, let me know. I've sat through enough crap to see some good stuff too, lol.

+OtakuSenseiHig Some characters' hair colours were different in the manga depending on the artwork. Shampoo's and Akane's hair changed several times, and Takahashi only coloured Girl-Type Ranma's hair red towards the end of the series. It was initially black.

Ranma 1/2 was the first manga I ever read. I never watched the anime growing up because it didn't air on Canadian TV or anything. Going through the series on and off now as an adult and there's just something really special about it that I can't place.

I Never got to watch the whole anime because of all the breasts and because I was 10 at the time but I didn't really mind because I didn't like it really I just like rumiko takahashi's work personally I think uruseiyatsura is one of her best works so is inuyasha ranma was just fanservice and karate and wasn't entertaining to watch but I liked the songs :3

No, back then this was not meant to be fan service, it was meant to be humorous. Think about it Ranma turned into a girl, so he doesn't understand that he has to cover himself when he showing his breast in public(because as boy it really doesn't matter if you go shirtless in public). Fan service is a something like "High school of the dead".

You dislike Ryôga Hibiki :(? I think it's the best manga character ever created! He is the most dangerous opponent of Ranma, but Ryôga also has a dark and melancholic side that makes the character interesting.

Well you should call it romantic comedy, but it involves just enough martial arts action to be categorized under shonnen instead of shoujo. The martial arts is more a parody of what was common in martial arts type shonnen manga in the 80s', but as a lot of that is still present today it has stayed practically fresh. The animation is good for late 80s'/early 90s' and the art desing keeps it timeless. Revealing more would spoil the surprises, so all I'll say is that the show is very random

I really loved this opening. It makes me want to continue watching Ranma but the whole voice actor change made me irritated...I. Really like Ranma's first voice actor because now when I hear his voice I think of Inuyasha and that ain't right. >.<

I've read the manga. It's pretty cool. I got to the end where Akane turned into a dried up doll and Ranma had to save her by fighting the phoenix king or something like taht. He was able to save her before she closed her eyes completely (which if she did, she would die). He ended up confessing his love for her. And, when they were going to get married, all their rivals showed up and pretty much crashed the wedding.

But keep in mind that the manga is really different from the show and funnier than the show but oh well

Correct me if I'm wrong...but didn't the author say she wasn't going to write anymore, thanks to not having written out a plan and having Ranma SPOILER: Defeat a fucking Demigod? The only way for her to continue that I can think of is to cross it with DBZ, they have OMGWTF levels of power as well. I never watched the anime...I read ALL of the manga.
In my experience the manga is almost always better than the anime, but that's just me. Though if I have any free time I'll try and check out the anime and see how they did with it.
Though for now I suggest that people just check out Ramna 1/2 because it's a great, fun, funny, lighthearted story.

It makes complete logical sense. If someone has never heard of your stupid show and this was the first time they came across and and they stumbled upon an intro as lame as this that only has people running and place and doesn't give any kind of glimpse of what the content is like: they will skip it. Also people do judge books by their cover.

Judging a show's content based entirely on its intro has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It's literally judging a book by its cover. I mean, really. The show was made in the nineties, for Pete's sake; what's there to be done about it? Imagine, if say, Shakespære had written a short description on one of his plays, and people rejected it merely because of that? Simply ridiculous.

There are some who do but generally a good example of a whore would be trophy gold digging wives who are only with their significant other for their money and once they go broke they leave them without hesitation. except for the fact that new characters are introduced and the characters do develop, unlike in inuyasha where we don't get any new main characters joining in and the characters don't develop at all.

This anime doesn't change much either. Once all the characters are introduced you can watch the episodes in any order and still know whats happening

God this op get's stuck in your head! I picked up Ranma again, after about 6 months, at episode 30 something. Just watching the show brought back this opening, I wish they hadn't changed it T.T

First time I watched Ranma was when I was 5, and here I am 11 years later (16) still watching my old vhs tapes of Ranma 1/2 big trouble in Nekonron China and other movies/episodes! :D

This was probably the best example for an anime that was 100+ Episodes. Plots were resolved usually within the same episode or maybe 2-4 episodes MAX they didn't draw 1 plot out for 20-30 or 50+ Episodes (See Dragon Ball Z) and there were minimal Flashback Episodes (See Fist of the North Star).
Also even when it was 100+ Episodes in, they still introduced new characters and kept the show interesting with the humor.
The only thing I disliked as how the show had no real conclusion.

When I first saw this opening I didn't like it at all...Since then EVERY time I've watched it I like it more and more. Can't explain the change of heart, but I f'in love it now and can't get enough of it.

This anime is so old and its still in my personal Top 5 list. I started watching Ranma when I was 13. Now I'm 21 and its still great.
