President Trump’s daughter received the opportunity to expand her word power via Merriam-Webster on Tuesday, after taking a crack at defining the word “complicit” in a promo for her “CBS This Morning” interview.
“If being complicit is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit,” said Trump. “I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this very unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I’ve done.”

Enter Merriam-Webster, which informed Trump and the rest of the world that, no, “complicit” does not mean “wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact.”
“‘Complicit’ is trending after Ivanka Trump told CBS, ‘I don’t know what it means to be complicit,'” said the dictionary company, “which noted that the definition of “complicit” is, in fact, “helping to commit a crime or do wrong in some way.”
