Trump Condemns Obama for Not Intervening in Syria after Begging Obama not to Intervene in Syria

President Trump today slammed former President Obama for not intervening in Syria, despite the fact that Mr. Trump begged Mr. Obama not to intervene in Syria.

“Today’s chemical attack in Syria against innocent people, including women and children, is reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world,” Mr. Trump explained. “These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution."

This comes in stark contrast to Mr. Trump's own statements from 2013 in which he pleaded with his predecessor to not intervene in the Syrian Civil War.
President Trump
"President Obama, do not attack Syria," Mr. Trump wrote on September 7, 2013. "There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your "powder" for another (and more important) day!"

Two days earlier he had written in all caps: "AGAIN, TO OUR VERY FOOLISH LEADER, DO NOT ATTACK SYRIA - IF YOU DO MANY VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN & FROM THAT FIGHT THE U.S. GETS NOTHING!"

On September 6, he claimed, "If Syria was forced to use Obamacare, they would self-destruct."

Mr. Trump also complimented Russia, saying they were "playing a very smart game" by negotiating Syria's "dismantling" of chemical weapons.
