I just wish there was something that could be done about those roleplayers. I wish there was a way to get people to put in effort into their posts. Also I get the feeling that we have some people with serious mental problems here because some posts are just rambling.
It feels lonely to come here looking to talk to likeminded people and everyone is just joking around.
ID: 62e56 No.30788
>>30781thats only happened in the last few months OP. Just this winter it was fine and we didn't have people constantly arguing over stupid labels like "incel" or "vocel" which would never even come up in a wizards mind. I pretty sire mods and admins can see how many times a person has posted and if we just banned new IP's the raiders would get bored and leave. I totally have notice a shift in ton in the past few weeks
ID: a2dd3 No.30790
>>30788Well, I once suggested checking the poster's history whenever a controversial or baiting post emerges. But the suggestion got deleted - I guess because it contradicts the whole "anonymous imageboard ethics" or something.
Another problem is that many people have dynamic IPs and/or use proxies/vpns.
ID: 873a4 No.30791
Do you think the people, using the suffix -groid are role players/raiders, that term has only popped up in the last few months and the people that say it feel the need excessively use it 3 times a sentence, it's a very annoying term to me.
ID: 03810 No.30792
>>30784The obvious solution would be stricter moderation, frustrating some of the outsiders here away after they stir a bit of trouble and flood us or something first. However in the long run, it would undoubtedly be for the good of the wizard community.
And yet, such an act might be more harmful than good. I don't know. I think a lot of the outsiders here really were lurking wizard apprentices who are just growing up and realized they don't quite belong anymore.
As far rambling posts go, I mean that's acceptable to an extent. A lot of the people here do have mental illnesses (myself included), and some are better equipped to cope with it than others in terms of self-restraint and personal control.
What I am highly in favor of, would be something like as I've said before: a what.cd-like splash page that forces the wizard test or some kind of indicator, filtering the outsiders before they even get in. It may not alleviate us of the current outsiders right now, but it would stop more from pouring in. I hear they mention us more often now in /r9k/, the bastards. They really should stop doing that for everyone's benefit.

>>30791I 100% do anon. I've been here three years and have only noticed it within the past two months or so when this site started going back to shit. I also noticed people using "normie" again which we stopped using for obvious reasons. Same for reaction images

Yet another witchhunt thread about calling everything you don't like roleplaying or raiding.
ID: 03810 No.30795

While I agree with what you said, it's pretty hypocritical of you to condemn "groid" posters while using a new meme phrase yourself. All these terms are cancerous. Can't we all just use normal words?

>>30828>it's not used in that context at allWrong. The term hasn't reached the point of bloating up to be a meaningless insult yet. In the majority of cases I have seen, it is used to specifically denote the teens/post-teens among us. I hate to agree. I took a year hiatus, and since I returned in february it's almost nothing like I remember. Just about every other post is a smug denigration of wizardry as 'meme' and role playing.

A meme suffix by any other name is just as shit.
Changing the ubiquitous 'fag' suffix from other websites into 'groid' is literally no different than drawing a crude wizard hat on outside memes. It's not a "new" meme fresh off the block, idiots, it's just a reskin.
It's pointless, irritating, destroys the quality of the entire post, and it's not even fucking funny.

>>30792>I hear they mention us more often now in /r9k/I decided to consult an archive to verify this. Pic related is a plot of the desuarchive results per month of "wizchan" and "wizardchan" since 2012-07-01. The dashes are from a linear interpolation across the gap in the archive. It appears that references did increase up to the beginning of 2016, but have decreased since then. There was a net increase in 2015. Overall exposure is decaying, but references to either term still occur around 200 times per month. I also generated a plot for the usage of "wizard", which appears to be increasing steadily.
