In all fairness, martial and mkhi had their chance against West Brom. Didn't go too well that either. The fellaini point... no comment ;)

Think lingard can spend some time on the bench though (until we get to Wembley anyway).

That's the thing though he hasn't publicly criticised both , that isn't the best for their confidence and neither is dropping them at the slightest mistake

you have to deal with players differently. Take shaw for example. Called fat by lvg pre season. A year later, before that leg break against PSV (Moreno is still a cunt) he was arguably our best player. Shaw also had a very good game today when he came on. One can assume shaw deals with public criticism well. Competition at united is so strong though. And we have so many games coming up, and so many games have been played. We need to rotate, and those three positions behind ibra are the easiest to rotate.

Competition isn't strong, Darmian is terrible as is Young Blind has 0 pace

Your right about lb. I was more referring to positions in attack with regards to competition.

I was most intrigued about his comments about Shaw.

There is clearly something behind the scenes that we aren't seeing.

I must say though as an academy coach I know EXACTLY what Jose was talking about when he made the comment about having to instruct Shaw on what to do. If this is truly the case it is a big issue. I wonder if it's related to his injury or that in his young career he has had 3 very different managers and I wonder if it's had an impact on his development.

Mou is challenging him though (hopefully). Shaw has a strong personality. It's been proved in the past with lvg calling him fat in pre season, then the following season he was one of our best players. I think shaw responds well to public criticism, while other players need a quiet word in private. Mou is always going to be scrutinised more in the media for what he says anyway.
