About this project
Many film enthusiasts grow up developing a talent in memorizing lines of dialogue from their favorite movies. Some of the most obsessive fans may eventually acquire the ability to recite full movies from start to finish. Those who have successfully learned a secondary language will likely suggest immersing yourself in the culture of said language. Not everybody can afford traveling to and living in another country, but many of us DO have time to sit in front of the TV for binge watching. If you're looking for a novel way to learn a second language, give As Cine On TV a try!
Risks and challenges
Licensing big-time Hollywood movies is expensive. According to Twilight Zone Cinema Services, "costs can range from 250 to $600 depending on the studio, title, and event date. Licensing costs can fluctuate weekly."
In 2013 TechCrunch reported on the $2 Billion Netflix was spending on content annually, with a "mass majority" of the money going towards licensing costs. With massive costs come the potential for massive achievements.
The success of As Cine On TV depends on meeting the demands of the subscribing users. With the launch of the ACOTV social network, we hope to provide a way for Cine Students to give feedback about the product, as well as interact with other users of the service. There is room for significant growth in the project, potentially leading to a shift in foreign language education and opening doors to world peace. Starting with the most widely spoken languages in the world, As Cine On TV can eventually grow to offer a complete library of movies translated into your desired language of choice.
