So I[24f] was hanging with my fwb[22m] and we were discussing various misconceptions or bad advice we'd heard over time. I come from a mainly Catholic family, and although my school and parents taught me pretty accurate information about sex, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, who would repeat "if you don't want to get pregnant, just keep an Aspirin between your knees".

I told fwb this, to which he replied "haven't they heard of doggy?"

We then proceeded to try out all of the positions we could think of that kept my knees together, just to illustrate the stupidity of the advice.

you know, now that I think about it, it really doesn't make sense coming from an older person because that method definitely works as long as you wear pants (unless you rip them), but you can still have sex with your knees closed as long as you wear a skirt (or already nude), which a conservative from the 1950's or 1960's would have grown up wearing.
