...because they've watched him play, maybe?

Statistics can only give you a limited idea if you haven't watched him. He carries the ball into the final third a lot and is available on the overlap a lot

I watched him playing too , and his crosses have always been poor since day one here . A back that can't cross can't be described as offensive back imo . People are very concerned about pace pace pace as if it's the only thing in football . " look the guy is quick ! he runs ! that's great " what about the other things that a footballer must have in his position too ??

Mate, he's so young for a player. He's still only 21 now.

Players get better the longer they play and he had the right combination to be a fantastic LB; High energy, very quick with a natural attacking mindset.

The crossing would have come.

That's my problem , we have multiple players in the team that we always see about them that " they'll be much better in the future " still don't know when that future to come tbh .

The future is in a few years time, maybe in 3 years.

Very very quick, makes good overlapping runs that create space for wingers.

His end product and decision making in the box isn't great though.

Don't think anyone thinks he's a "great offensive fullback" as much as has the potential to be one.

He got speed , but really got nothing else . His crosses are very , very poor and that's the reason for his poor numbers .

I really can't withstand a back that can't cross .

Interesting to see this come out today I have to admit.

You've constantly got an agenda against Shaw, this is the 3rd thread (that I know of) that you've started about him and even when you're presented with a logical argument you dismiss it.

Stats do not give a full picture at all, when he's played at full capacity no one has doubted his ability, that's pundits, managers and his fellow team-mates who can all see how good he is. It's his attitude that is in question. If you can't see his potential then I really don't know how it can be explained to you much more because it's just basic footballing knowledge.
