12' West Brom defending with 11 men behind the ball at all times and looking to break on the counter. It's been all United early on but no major chances for either side.

18' United have the first good chance of the game as Martial darts forward and tries to curl the ball into the far corner from outside the box but a deflection wins us a corner. Old Trafford roars louder at some positive play but the corner comes to nothing.

25' Lingard flashes the latest chance across the 6 yard box but there's no-one there! Carrick finds Lingard in space on the right-hand side of the box but no runs are made into the 6 yard box and his low cross goes out for a goal kick.

29' MARTIAL COMES CLOSE! Lingard plays a beautiful cross from the right to the far post and Martial outleaps Dawson but his header is wide of the post!

35' United finding it very difficult to break West Brom down and there's very little space for the forwards to move and attack. Passing through the defence is also very difficult given how deep they're playing.

40' West Brom with a bit more of the ball in the past few minutes.

43' MANCHESTER UNITED YELLOW CARD Rojo is booked for a late challenge on Robson-Kanu and is the first yellow card of today's game.

Is it me or do we spend far too much time trying to work our way through 10 defenders with short passes in a confined area. 2/3 of our on target shots came from Rashford at range.. more of that.. if they want to sit back lets use that space..

Yep. And we have Fellaini on the pitch, but never really tried to get him into goalscoring opportunities when we crossed it in. Why not put a player like him further up the pitch? Him and Rashford upfront the last 30 mins would have fit the way we played so much better.

A powerhouse and a pacey striker. And when we finally crossed the ball in we would have had Fellaini there already, and not 20 meters behind because of his terrible positioning/eager to get in goalscoring positions.

No signature United wingplay? I saw some moves and some runs that reminded me of proper football down the wings.

No increased tempo? Say that to Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

There were rarely any chances created, I agree with that. We didn't have a proper chance creator in that team today, if we did, they weren't on form.
