Not enough overlapping runs? Crossing from deep without an aerial threat. (self.reddevils)

At the end of the day, I genuinely believe United will succeed in the coming years.

But looking at performances objectively, many of the draws, we have barely been threatened and tend to be the "attacking" team with more chances.

Nevertheless, how we attack is important. We have pacey players so we should overlap our wingers/fullbacks. Instead we are pretty static and we end up passing sideways/backwards. Or even worse, we end up whipping a ball in when there are 4/5 big West Brom players and only Marcus to target. Our crossing is poor also.

Of course, overlapping runs will expose us more to the counter but we have to take risks, otherwise the dropped points are worse than winning more but risking losing more (Chelsea have lost more games this season). But overlapping runs would force West Brom players even deeper (then they already were) which could give us the space and opportunity to drag back the cross, similar to how we conceded to Watford when we lost.

West Brom were well drilled, we have to get used to that and adapt by being either being more creative/unpredictable or more incisive. Even though I don't believe we have a great squad, we have enough quality to create better opportunities. We were pretty much left to shooting outside the box.

Whenever Valencia/Young had the ball on the wing, you could see that there wasn't enough movement.

This season has also shown, Martial and Rashford need to develop. Lingaard has shown some moments of brilliance but he really needs to up his overall game. Some really frustrating moments from these players.. they can tear defences apart but end up with a poor final ball/decision.

Very frustrating with Wayne, should have been more experienced at the end when he laid it off for a last possible chance in the game

I, too, feel like we crossed too much. I felt like there were a few times when Martial crossed that he had enough space to take one more touch and blast it on goal.

Also speaking of making runs, what's with the players not running into space? I felt like every time Lingard or one of the full backs played it into space Miki and Rashford expect the ball aimed right at them through 3 defenders..

the most frustrating part of the game today. I think with about 10 minutes to go, Carrick or Bailly (I can't remember) picked up a clearance from the middle of the pitch and was looking around for movement or someone to pass to.

Our wingers (today moreso than ever) were trying to stay wide and cross, and when they'd drift inside the opposing fullbacks and opposing midfielders would be ready for any sort of overlapping runs.

The players can't tear defenses apart, atleast not the ones on the pitch today (barring Mkhitaryan).

In my opinion, individually, the players like Martial and Rashford can front on dribble directly toward players and take it past them. Lingaard is the sort of player who can stretch defences with his running.

They haven't done it a lot this season, atleast. They might have the ability, but they haven't shown it when needed.

True but WBA are entirely different defensively.

We are trying to score the perfect goal all the time and players need to be more ruthless.

You're bang on, yes we attack and have lots of chances, but ffs, they need to just be more...savage.

Just get some space, take a touch and fucking hit it. The chemistry seemed really off today, everyone looking for an extra pass that wasn't needed, they just need to be more selfish and go for it.
