I'm not going to go into massive detail, I'm sure many of you here have worked within retail and can relate.
I am a manager of a tile shop and the sheer amount of entitlement I am exposed to is truly astonishing. And of course, nine times out of ten, it is the females that display the entitlement.
There are loads of stories here about the women bossing their husbands/partners around and calling the shots, and retail throws up as many examples as any other field.
But there are two things that really stand out for me.
Firstly, whenever I am in a conversation with an individual guy and ask them what sort of tiles he is looking for etc. I can pretty much bet my entire savings, guitars, pc, lungs that the guy will say something along the lines of "I'll have to let the boss decide". I'll leave that there.
No. 2- whenever there is an issue, nine times out of ten, it's the females that react in a hostile and aggressive manner. I'll have explained the situation to the male, only to get a phone call shortly after from the hysterical, sarcastic, catty wife/partner. Again, this is something I can guarantee will happen. The attitude they display absolutely stinks, their rudeness is marvellous, and they have no self awareness of the situation. For instance, one woman was annoyed because she wasn't able to return some tiles, even though it explains on the back of her receipt that the tiles she purchased were non-returnable, and went on to say she worked for the BBC and demanded a refund. All that said to me was she was probably a paedophile.
Anyway, I went into more detail than I intended to, but I'm sure many of you will have experienced similar..experiences, especially if you've worked in retail.
